Hello fellow fusion owners. in the last month i have had two strange things happen with my 17 fusion 1.5 eco. #1 just merged onto the turnpike with sport mode on in automatic. as i got to 80mph i switched of sport mode and set cruise. as soon as cruise ingaged trans shifted down to a lower gear. not sure what gear but tach pegged out at 8000 rpm. i tried using paddle shifter to up shift but did not respond second later the wrench light came on and lost power. i immediatly pulled to shoulder shut down engine and sat for 5 min. check fluid levels and restarted the car. runs fine and hasnt happened again. today i drove to gas station was on 1/4 tank after putting in fuel the engine started then died. i tried again and it turned over for several seconds started then died.did this 4 or 5 times before it finally started but had very low rpm until i gave it a little throttle. idle came up to normal and has not had a issue since. if anyone has had this issue or knows what might have caused these things to happen i would really appreciat your input.  thanks heath

so quick update. finally got a check engine light. p1450 and p0456 evap purge valve. i read that the fusion can get dirt around the inner flap on the fuel fill tube so i cleaned it and with advice from ford mechanic sprayed wd40 around the flap and pushed a funnel in and out several times to lube that flap. i cleared codes and next day light came on again but was a different code p2196 rich air to fuel ratio. i have not noticed a change in drivability or fuel consumption. i do know i have about 50,000 miles on this engine that was replaced in the customer satisfaction program and im slowly loosing coolant again. wonder if the #2 plug is bad from coolant and not burning fuel properly causing that code to be set? any thoughts would be appreciated.
