gigabyte323 Posted July 12, 2022 Share Posted July 12, 2022 (edited) I just wanted to share that I sucesfully deleted the AWD system on my 2011 fusion by removing the drive shaft and two off the gears in the PTU. I used the original AWD intermediate shaft. The PTU had lost all lubrication and was very noisy. This was due to the Ford manufacturing defect (no drain plug on PTU).
