Drakba
I have this code, it seems to point to the vvt solonoid, where is it, and how do I get to it please?
akirby
It’s near the overhead cams but if you don’t know that you probably shouldn’t try to replace it.
Drakba
Ok, so how would you recommend my troubleshooting this further? Car drives fine, but check engine light comes and goes. currently it's off. Engine sounds right, mpg is average (22 city, 28 highway). No smoke, or oil consumption. I just got it about 3k ago, and I don't have maintenance logs from previous owner. I did an engine flush before I started driving it. It also needed a bunch of suspension work and brakes but that is all unrelated. It passed a NYS inspection, but that was when the light was off. Don't know if it will pass again next year if the light is on, so I would like to address it while it is hopefully a minor problem. Much appreciated!
WKelley
That code does not point to the VVT solenoid alone, a quick internet search shows it could be an ignition issue as well as PCM or cam sensor.
