Hi All

Im looking to own of these cars particulary a 2016 fusion 2.0 ecoboost with auto box, are there any common problems with the platform as well anythings I need to look at when viewing and testing the car, I will bring along my mechanic with a scan tool to come along. Lastky what maintenances or fixes would you advise to look at after picking up the car.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks

Hi Lu and welcome to the Ford Fusion Forum. If you plan on having your mechanic along for the ride, I would ask him for his advice. You will need to look at all the normal problem areas that one would look at with a used vehicle. Take a long test drive, to check the performance of the engine/transmission/brakes etc. Check all electronic/computer/electrical systems to be sure all features and options work correctly. Check the tires for wear, since needing to immediately purchase a new, good quality pair set of tires would be a ~$1,200+ addition (mounted/balanced etc.) to the purchase cost.

As far as what maintenance to perform once you have purchased? All the normal routine maintenance that would be required at the mileage the vehicle is at. Plus...I would recommend flush/filling the transmission fluid, changing the oil, PTU fluid, coolant, etc. etc.

You can find the Maintenance Schedule in the Owners Manual. You can download the PDF version here: https://www.fleet.ford.com/parts-service/resources/owner-manuals/

Once you purchase, I would also recommend to register yourself and your vehicle on the Ford Owners Website, so you can get the latest information on your vehicle: https://www.ford.com/support/

Also, check with your local Ford Dealer to have them register you in as the new vehicle owner, check for any outstanding recalls, etc.

I am sure others will jump in with more advice.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

$1200 for a pair of tires? Nope.

Hi mozz. Thanks for catching that obvious typo...which is now corrected...lolololol. That would be ~$1,200 for a set of tires.

Good luck.
