I can not guide you as to changing the system programming to disable it, or if it is possible. However, if you simply turn off ACC in the Driver Information Center, the cruise control system will operate as a regular/traditional cruise control. And you will also not have to worry about making a mistake and bricking your system. If anyone else has programming data/parameters, I am sure they will jump in to help.
