2013 Fusion A/C kicks on at random and won't turn off

I'm plagued by this and no one can elaborate on why it happens. It's kind of intermittent though it occurs once a day at a minimum. When it happens, I'm usually driving and it kicks on hard, rocking/lurching the car forward. I'm ashamed to say I don't remember if the rpms bounce or anything else significant happens as a result. I have many, many times tried to turn it off only for it to come back on again in seconds and fight to stay on. Recently, I just let it run and hit the A/C button off, so the fan is going but it's not blowing cold in the cabin. As long as I've owned this fusion (full 8 years now) it started doing it from about the third year on. If the fan is supposed to do this, is it supposed to literally move the car with such force (I e., That's obviously way more noticeable when the car is stopped and running, no A/C)?

Any advice? Insight? Am I doing something I shouldn't? Thank you for reading.
