Excessive oil consumption

Late October of last year, I had to get the engine replaced on my Fusion titanium. January 19th, I went to empty my catch can and check the oil. The oil wasn't even touching the dipstick. At that point I had only put 3k miles on the new engine. Decided to take it to get the oil changed. I checked the oil level yesterday and it's at the minimum mark. Is this common with new engines or should I be expecting another engine replacement?

Was it a new engine?  What warranty did it come with?

A new engine could maybe use a bit of oil, but it really shouldn't.  If you are going to try and warranty the engine then you should start documenting everything and start checking the oil level at least weekly if not daily.  You will need to have all your facts straight before you begin the warranty process if it has one.

Yes, brand new from Ford. 3 year unlimited mileage. I scheduled to take it in Wenesday to have them take a look. I tend to check it every couple of days. Good idea about documenting it, I'll post an update when I get an answer. Hopefully nobody else is experiencing this.
