GeeTwo
So, here is the deal. 2013 ford fusion, 152k miles on it, got it for free, (long story), car had blown turbo and seals. She was sucking crank oil and shooting it into the intake. Great as spy car, not so much for driving daily. Had turbo replaced, ran rough, bad coil cylinder 1, and replaced all plugs with NGK laser iridium. Ran for 15 minutes, plugs were black carbon and fouled. New plugs, New vvt solenoids, air filter, and cam sensors. No luck making her run! Computer only has permanent codes. Intake cam over advanced, exhaust over advanced, exhaust over retarded, and evaporator leak. No other codes! I have 2500 ish invested in the car. A used motor w/90k ish is 1850.00 for the 1.6l turbo problem motor. 2.0l non-turbo fusion motor with 60k is 500.00. I had 2.0l in my 2010 transit w500k + miles on it. (Sold w 498k and I know it still drives just dont know milage, but is same motor and trans). The price and reliability makes me want to ditch the noisy knocking motor that doesn't run for a 2.0l non-turbo engine. Thoughts, advice, can it be done, and what would I need? Thanks for the help!
WKelley
Won't work, wiring/pcm will be different amongst other things. I don't think I would repair a car with that engine, they are terrible and unreliable for sure.
drolds1
AFAIK, there's never been a non-turbo 2.0 engine in the North American Fusion. If you're talking about the 2.0 Duratec (Mazda L) engine, that was only used in the European Mondeo. It would never work with the Fusion's ECU, etc. If you want to keep the car, replace the engine with the same one that it came with. Anything else would be opening a huge can of worms. Try to find another 1.6 with lower mileage.
