Crazy Pitbull Lady
Won't go into hybrid mode. Kept draining battery. Had to ju.pstart nearly everytime I drove it. Replaced regular battery but still drains when driving. If battery drains too low the car won't get any gas and comes to a stop. I changed battery and no longer has to be Jumpstart but still doesn't go into hybrid mode and drains battery in gas mode. Blind Internet diagnosis is difficult at best, and even more difficult when discussing Hybrid vehicles. Since you already changed the 12V battery, you will probably need to have your vehicle issue diagnosed by a Ford Dealership, or a good independent shop that works with Hybrid vehicles. I am sure one of our tech members will jump in to help if they have more insight into this issue. Keep us updated and good luck.
drolds1
I have limited Hybrid knowledge, but I do know that the Fusion Hybrid does not have a conventional alternator to charge the 12V battery. It's charged by the Hybrid's high voltage battery through an inverter. If your car doesn't run in Hybrid mode, the 12V battery will never be charged. You need to find out why that's happening. I'd take bbf2530's advice and get a professional diagnosis. You may also want to post your question on the Ford Fusion Hybrid Forum, where there are more owners that are familiar with the car. Please let us know what happens. Other members can benefit from your experience.
