2012 For Fusion A/C blowing hot

My daughter’s 2012 Ford Fusion stopped blowing cold air. We took it to a shop and they said it needs a new compressor to condenser hose and the only available part is from Ford and the cost is $525 for just the hose. The entire repair job is $1056.00

I am new in Atlanta so I don’t know if this is a typical situation or if this is a good price for the repair. I’d appreciate any advice on this. Thanks!

It's not a good price, but sadly we are in an era where getting charged that much to fix older cars seems to be the way.

As long as it is a Motorcraft part, I'd pay the price premium because that is another issue today, cheap auto parts that are junk out of the package.  I personally try to only buy Motorcraft parts for my car.

It might be worth getting a second opinion, buy A/C work is never cheap as it is.  I recently paid $600ish to fix my speedometer gear, the part was over$450 from Ford.
