2020 se with the dial shifter I've ran into this problem a couple times and can't find reason behind it my shifter sometimes forces itself back into the current gear weather it be park drive reverse. Put it also sometimes locks the shifter mostly in neutral and it can't be moved any help dealer couldn't replicate when I took it in before. 20230804_164005.thumb.jpg.5e84357c87139ca65a25312b4f818e6f.jpg

God this has gotten so annoying. It has gotten worse since I made the post it I had to use the manual reset. It now kicks me back to park a lot more also tonight after the engine start stop started I went to shift to park and it got stuck in neutral again

Edit I know it really doesn't matter cause the parts on back order just sucks that mines acting up at such low mileage I'm not going to stand for used one either. I'll still mention it when I go in for my next oil change.

Well back from another trip to the dealer, and once again they couldn't replicate it. Also they sounded like if they did replicate it, they were going to charge for it eventhough I have a extended powertrain and I'm still under the original one. Well whatever ?

Hi Roxas. Can't help with them duplicating the problem, if you can't demonstrate it personally. However, if your Fusion is still within the 3 year/36,000 mile New Vehicle Warranty, this type of issue would be covered. Unless of course, they claim liquid was spilled on/into it, or some other type of inadvertent negligence.

Unfortunately, the dial shifter would not be covered under the Powertrain Warranty or an extended Powertrain Warranty.

Keep us updated and good luck.

How that controls the powertrain it should. Same with that module that you guys showed me since it controls the shift by wire I'll wait till it locks up then drag it over there.

Hi Roxas. I am not arguing whether it should/should not be covered under the Powertrain Warranty. Heck, I am a Lincoln owner and certainly wish things like that were covered under the Powertrain Warranty. However, it is not.

I am only trying to help you by letting you know it is not covered under the Powertrain Warranty, but would be covered under the 3 year/36,000 mile New Vehicle Warranty (with the restrictions previously mentioned).

You can find what is/is not covered in the Owners Warranty Guide, which every new vehicle buyer is given at purchase. If you did not purchase new, you can download the PDF version here: https://www.fordpro.com/en-us/fleet-vehicles/manuals-and-guides/

Keep us updated and good luck.
