Looking to replace filter and gasket for my 2017 FFH transmission  it now has 355,000+ on the car last transmission flush with filter was at 236,00 and before that at 98,000 both times done at dealership.

I dropped the transmission pan on my 2000 BMW 528i and changed filter pan and gasket.

so feeling pretty confident in tackling my FFH .

does anyone know where to get the whole kit outside of the dealership?

Hi FFHioohio and welcome to the Ford Fusion Forum. Google "Ford online parts dealers", skip past the "Ad" links, and do some price shopping there. If you can not find what you need in the online databases, give a call.

I have used Tasca parts in the past and been happy. However, that is simply my experience.

And keep in mind that pricing at the Parts Department of your local Ford Dealership is negotiable. I have used online pricing to negotiate lower Dealer pricing, so that is another option.

Also, my personal recommendation would be to use the Motorcraft/OEM branded parts.

And in the future, please do not double post the same question. It is much easier for other members to help when all questions and information are located in one thread. To that end, we will delete the double post in the other existing thread, and leave this new one you started open.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

There's no "kit" per se. There's no pan/gasket as on your BMW.  There is a filter, but it's internal. The case has to be split open in order to access it and the only way to do that is by removing the trans from the car.

See this video of an HF35 teardown.  It's in Spanish, but FF to 4:39, and you'll see the tech removing the filter assembly.

And as our famous ford tranny engineer likes to say - if the filter is clogged enough to change it the tranny is already toast.
