Texas_Fusion
Howdy Everyone. I just joined this forum. I am 60 and my daughter has a 2014 Ford Fusion SE 2.0 with 45,000 miles. Noting I am a Chevy guy and have rebuilt a couple motors and do my own maintenance. I know little about Fords or 4 cylinders or GDI but have watched numerous vids. I got a 144A code and am replacing the purge valve spider assembly (dual check valve) with the 3 intake connectors (1 piece unit). Gheez there is no space to work on these things and getting to the lower connector has been futile. I am 6’5” 260 lbs and cannot get my hand/arm to it. So I was thinking why not just remove the intake manifold and look at the carbon on valves and clean them if needed. Just take cylinders to TDC and use the seafoam and brake cleaner soak and scrape method. Anyway does this make sense or is there something on these engines that I am not aware of that I will regret pulling the intake off?
