Parking Brake Error (engaging on its own) 2015 Ford Fusion Hybrid Titanium

Hello all, I am currently having issues with my Ford fusion and it’s electronic parking brake system. The issues occurred lightly a couple months back when I was idling at a stoplight and once the light turned green,, I let off the break and went to hit the gas and the parking brake engaged on its own and the parking brake sensor came on my dash, I went to give it some gas, and it would not accelerate, and the brake pedal went down to the floorboard, and was making some weird noise with the brakes when pressing in and out on the pedal. Obviously, this freaked me out pretty good, especially with people being behind me at a light. Luckily, I was able to throw my hazards on real quick and have a quick and so far only solution to being able to go about with my route, which was turning the car off completely, and then turning the car back on. which at this point sometimes the light will turn immediately off and sometimes it takes a little while, but eventually goes off. Then it reads parking brake released on the dash. Keep in mind any time this has happened my hand, nor anyone else’s was near the parking brake switch. also, I’m trying to keep this as short as possible, but as detailed as possible. Now it’s a few months later… And the car has went from having this issue maybe once a week at most, to having this issue multiple times a day sometimes. Except now, it mainly does it when turning my car on after driving it for a while, the error message will either pop up right away on my dash and I have to repeat the process of turning my car off and then back on, or it has the error message show up when I turn the car on and switch out of park into drive or reverse. Note: this is usually when it happens. I have noticed when it does it while coming out of park. I can hear what I believe. Is the parking brake slowly trying to disengage. Sometimes it does sometimes it doesn’t. Anyways, I hope this was detailed enough. Just so you know, I do plan on doing the repair myself, I just haven’t worked a whole lot with the newer electric brake systems. So if this is something that I can do myself, just know that is my hopeful outcome. I appreciate any knowledge y’all have to bring forward, and if not, thank you and God bless. Be safe out there people
