tgwaltz
Hi all - I have a 2007 Fusion SE with the 5 speed manual transmission. I've noticed that if I start it up for the first time on a "colder" day (in the 50's or 60's), it will shudder a bit the first (and only the first time) I shift from 1st to 2nd gear. This is not a bad-sounding noise (just a slight clunk), but I'm still thinking about taking in to be looked at while the car is still under warranty. I do let the engine warm up for a minute first and the RPMs go down to around 1k before I start driving. Also, the shudder is not due to my shifting technique! Has anyone else had this issue or can confirm that it's probably due to the car not being warmed up? Also, is it normal to sometimes have to move the shifter around a few gears until it will shift in to reverse? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!
