cdygalloway
When my engine is running, with the transmission in park, the rpms will noticeably increase if I move the steering wheel left or right. I would estimate the increase to be around 200 rpm. Then drop back down to normal if I release the steering wheel and it moves back to center. If I hold it in that position the wheel will push back. Is this normal?
WKelley
Yes, that is normal as the engine is speeding up the power steering pump as it would struggle at idle speed to turn the wheels while stopped.

And if it has never been flushed/changed, you may also want to have that work performed. Keep us updated and good luck.
