JField76 Posted December 29, 2023 Share Posted December 29, 2023 Just picked up a 2012 SE 4cyl. Nice car, but seems a bit underpowered. Anyone else notice this? Is this normal? Car shifts nice, but needs rpm’s up to 3000-3500 to try and get car really moving. Car doesn’t accelerate very fast compared to other 2.5 4cylinders I’ve had. WKelley Posted December 29, 2023 Share Posted December 29, 2023 (edited) It's a 3500# car with a 170HP motor. Assuming you have the automatic that's going to make for an underwhelming experience. I have the 2.5 with the 6spd manual and I find the car has more than enough power and I don't feel like my car is lacking. You might want to check/replace the spark plugs and any other maintenance that is missing. Don't forget that the 2.5 is port injected not direct injected.
