So the actuator door doesnt move when pressing the buttons on the panel. The light on the panel jumps, the door never switches from defrost (top), dash, or feet (bottom). Its just stuck in the dash postions.

I was looking around and found this thread:

Not sure what happened to the formatting but I also added this context:

I found this in another thread here that pressing Defrost + Power Then Power again would reset the climate control unit

It worked it. The funny thing is that the actuator engaged and went from top -> front -> bottom accordingly. Once the test is done, it gets stuck again.

Updated test below

I don't know exactly what fuse it is, but I also checked the ones that I thought might be an issue, but they all seemed to be fine.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Won't be a fuse, especially if things "work".

Sounds like the module cannot relearn or some other issue like that.  Get someone with a good scan tool to get in there, there should be some codes (which will not set a CEL).

Is there some sort a reset that can be done, besides the one mentioned above? (eg removing the battery or something)

Taking it to get scanned is a pain. I can do a basic scan, but to really get in there, those guys are not cheap.

Gotcha. So I did a few things. Just to get them out of the way.

1. Disconnected the battery to try and reset everything. No luck.

2. I'm going to run another test via Defrost + Power Then Power again

If the system only stays in the front position. Is it safe to assume the actuator needs to be changed?

Okay so I ran another test. The vents only stayed in the front position.

The inside/outside door seemed to work as I heard something being engaged and pressure of the air flow changed.

Also the test didn't seem to end. The radio got stuck in the attached image position.

Does this help narrow anything down?

Also I made a lot of assumptions in naming.

After doing more research, is the module that handles movement of air from top/mid/bottom even called the actuator, or does that handle something else?
