Fuser
After driving several miles and making five stops my Fusion decided not to start after the last stop. The wife decided to turn on accessories to charge her phone while I went to take care of something. Various lights flashed on the dashboard, the steering wheel and the interior lights came on. The headlights came on very dim. Turned the headlights switch from AUTO to OFF. This is not typical of a dead battery. Battery is not yet two years old. Wondering if the alternator has failed or there is a short or the electrical system has fried.
Fuser
It was the battery. Took the battery to the nearest parts store. It would not charge. Then had the alternator checked. It is OK. Never had lights flashing and head lights be on after turning off the head lights when a battery died. Thought I had electrical problem. Kept the old one to see if I could get anything back for it from the place I bought it two years ago.
andyross
What brand was it? Does it have a warranty? At the minimum, many auto parts stores will give some form of rebate/gift card when you turn in a battery.
