fusionse06
The metal base under both driver and passenger seats get a bit rusty, is this something that should be covered under warranty? Anyone else has experienced same problems? It's an 06 ford fusion se
fusionse06
Am I the only one who has this rust problem? I checked with ford dealer today and they said those are just bare metal so it's normal to get rust. Cheap ford.
2010SEL
Am I the only one who has this rust problem? I checked with ford dealer today and they said those are just bare metal so it's normal to get rust. Cheap ford. Seen that before. And I just looked at my '10 and it is bare metal too. Seems to have an oily residue on it, so it hasn't rusted yet. They save pennies wherever they can. 99.9% of the car purchasers will never look under there!

I just purchased a 2010 Fusion SEL and it has rusty seat components under both the driver and passenger side seats. Looked at others at the dealership and saw a 2009 with similar rust. Wondering if I am the only one with a 2010 with this problem.
deo1929
My 97 Toyota Tacoma is the same...unpainted seat mounts. So is my mother-in-law's 96 Honda Civic. All of them have light surface rust. It's not a structural issue...only cosmetic. If it's that big of a deal, it would only take an hour to remove the seats, clean the surface with a degreaser and then shoot the tracks with some black Rustoleum...after masking off the rest of the seat. Better to do it now before the bolts build up corrosion underneath and are harder to remove.

I asked ford and they also said it's normal for baremetal seats. however, I get a lot of condensation on my interior windsheild. makes me think theres a leak

I checked with ford dealer today and they said those are just bare metal so it's normal to get rust. Cheap ford. I don't know about that. I just came across the rust under seat problem, both front seats. I will be bringing the Fusion into the dealer to do warranty repair of this. My Fusion SEL is a 2010 model delivered November 2009. klink1983
2011 SE bought March of 2011, same thing. Gonna run it by the dealer to see what they say. Wish I hadve figured out to paint them right when I bought them. Not impressed.....
