2010 Fusion Sel starting problems

I purchased my 2010 Ford Fusion Sel back in September this year. I have overall enjoyed the ride until my husband and I experienced on several occasions the vehicle cranking with no start but then on second try it will start right up. I called the dealer and they state they have not heard of this problem. I am supposed to be taking it in this week to be checked. Has anyone else experienced this issue.

Hi mhall. :D Do you have an I-4 or V-6 SEL? Well, either way, there are no common no-start issues with the Fusion that would lead to, or be able to help you isolate your problem. When you bring your Fusion in for service, the Dealer will check the Ford Service database for any TSB's (Technical Service Bulletins) or known issues.

Also, just as an FYI: You accidentally posted your question in the "Ford Fusion SVT & Sport" sun-forum. The Fusion Sport (a 3.5L V-6) has an entirely different engine than your SEL (a 3.0L V-6 or 2.5L I-4). You will usually get better responses if you post in the appropriate sub-forum. In this way, people with the same model, engine, interest etc., are looking to help, or looking for information.

Let us know what the Dealer finds out and good luck with your new Fusion. :beerchug:

I have a 2010 Fusion SE I-4 2.5L purchased in July and have the same problem. I can let go of the key and it will continue to cranl without starting. I have to turn the key to off to get it to stop cranking. I can then try again and it will start right up. This has happened to me many time. Let me know what you find out.

Yes, experiencing the same thing. Took it to the dealership last week, they replaced the battery. But, it's not the battery. Just drove home, parked it in the garage, went back out 30 min later to move the car and it won't turn over. Radio and all electronics work...the engine just won't turn over. Called the Ford Roadside service and they are on their way to tow the car to the dealership as we speak. When I put it in the shop last week, I told them to do the full 15,000 mile checkup (mileage was at 12.5k). And, I asked them to check all the electrical. I guess they must not have done that since it's clearly not fixed! They also told me they didn't have record of this problem with the 2010 Fusion. But, when you search the web, you can see we are not alone! Let me know if you figure it out. I'll do the same.
