SYNC Phone and Aux not functioning

My phone and Aux Buttons are no longer functioning on my 2010 Fusion. Only the AM/FM and CD buttons are working.

I press the Aux button and the sound disrupts on the radio for a second and it goes back to the radio. When I press the phone it no longer connects and does nothing. The command button on the steering wheel no longer works either.

I disconnected my Ipod nano from the USB port and reconnected it but it didn't fix the problem. The Ford logo on my Ipod is no longer displaying like it used to.

I tried finding a way to reset the Microsoft SYNC, but have not been able to find the information.

Anyone experience this problem and have a solution? I believe I am running the latest firmware offered.

Thanks,

Tim

If you put the latest SYNC revision in I think you have to re-pair your phone.

You are right. I did have to re-pair my phone a couple of months ago when I put in the new firmware.

At this point the SYNC system isn't reconizing anything being plugged in the Aux port nor is it able to bring up the phone menu anymore.

There is a factory reset option in your Sync. Not sure where it is on a Non NAV unit, but I have option under my Menu to restore Factory defaults. That would reset SYNC but loose any settings you have of course.

To answer the last reply; I couldn't even get to a place to even do a SYNC Master reset as the menus would not even come up.

What I did instead was to do a reset by disconnecting the negitive battery cable from the car for about 5 minutes.

I reconnected it and then put in the latest SYNC revision in. At that point everything became functional again.

I hope this helps someone who might have this same problem in the future...

But if a long shot, I’m currently having the same issue. Replaced the radio and the APIM. Still can’t switch to “aux” and on the rare occasion it does switch the screen stays black and can’t access the menu. How did you manage to to put the latest SYNC revision in?
