You need to remove the wheel, and the wheel well splash guard to access the serpentine belt.

Honestly, I haven't even looked at mine, but I've NEVER had to remove a wheel, or wheel well to change one before, and I've done plenty of them on different makes and models. That would suck if that's what you had to do. the book might say you have to, but odds are you can finagle it into place without doing all that. Again, I haven't even looked at it. Anybody else? Some of the 06's should have had to change one by now.
bbf2530
What is the average cost to have a serpentine belt replaced on at 2007 Fusion 3.0 V6 at a dealership? Is this something easy to do yourself at home? Hi Brad. :D The quickest and easiest way to get an accurate answer to how much it will cost you (for any maintenance cost question) is to call the Service Department of your Dealership and ask them. Just call and ask "How much do you charge to replace the serpentine belt on a 2007 Fusion 3.0 V6?" Sometimes the Service Department can answer the question, other times they will transfer you to the Parts Department where you ask the same question and they will answer. Either way, that is how to get an accurate answer. You can also call several Dealerships and get your best price. Also, keep in m ind that these maintenance prices are negotiable, just like buying a new car. So don't be afraid to ask for a better price. Depending upon their patience/skill level, it is a job that a "shade tree" mechanic could perform. It is more involved in some cars than others. In addition, the Shop Manual is always helpful for these types of jobs. Good luck. :beerchug: Edited January 30, 2010 by bbf2530

Hi Brad. :D Actually, if you check the Ford Maintenance Schedule Guide, the recommended change interval for the accessory drive belt (serpentine belt) is at 150,000 miles. You should have been given the Maintenance Schedule Guide (along with the Owners Manual, Warranty Guide and other paperwork) when you purchased your car (if you purchased new). I thought you were asking because you were having some sort of problem and had to change the belt early, that is why I did not mention the recommended change interval before. Of course, everyone is free to perform scheduled maintenance sooner if it makes them more comfortable, but it helps to have the Maintenance Guide for a reference point. Good luck. :beerchug:

I will make that and the belt. I usually ask for the parts back as well. TKS! bruker
I know this is an old topic but I replaced the serpentine belt on my `06 Milan today and it was a "piece of cake". From jacking the car up to puttinging it back down it took all of 45 minutes at most. I removed the tire, the fender liner and the splash shield which gave me plenty of access to the belt and tensioner. A standard 3/8" drive ratched will do but a breaker bar would have made it a bit easier as it takes some pressure on the tensioner to fanagle the belt into position. The original belt had 161,000 miles on it and it still looked good.
