Nice and clearly deserved, but CR is still pro Toyota. This is the results of a large group of CR subscribers continue to point out the CR is nothing but a closed club and is wrong in their survey of American cars. Subscribers are the only ones who supply them with car surveys. I drive American cars and don't send in the survey because it's a pain and won't mean anything anyway.

I completely understand your dissatisfaction with Consumer Reports' alleged bias favoring Toyota. It appears to be a closed loop, with subscribers shaping attitudes. Hopefully, they will diversify and provide a more accurate picture of American automobiles.Magic 8

we have a 2010 FFH with 135,000 miles on it now, got it used for $6M in 2017 with around 85M miles and have only done tires, brakes front and back (although the fronts did not need to be replaced) and the B1S1 O2 sensor and throttle body.  Oil changes around every 3500-4000 miles with full synthetic, I have run flats on it since this is pretty rural here and I don't want the Mrs. to worry about tires.  It is the best running, most reliable vehicle i have owned in 60 years of car ownership, and still gets 36mph or better consistently even though it is now a 14 year old car.  I just did a rebalance

(autel md808) on the HV battery yesterday, and all 28 groups are within .04 volts of each other when completed, showing again how good these battery packs are even after years of extreme heat and cold.  I know it won't last forever, but these are really great cars imo.

$6M is a little high - I think you got ripped off there. 😂

that was in 2017 and it is still a daily driver, back then it was a good deal and that has been proven over the past 7 years.  thanks for playing.

6 MILLION dollars is not a good deal.  Thanks for playing.

Haha yeah, 6 million would be like the price of a new EV today, not a ni-cad relic, and the 6'M' is an old habit from my printing days, 6M=6,000.

Motor Trend named the Fusion their Car of the Year in 2010: https://www.motortrend.com/news/2010-motor-trend-car-of-the-year-ford-fusion/

I bought my one-owner 2010 Sport in 2020 with just 30K on it and agree what a great vehicle it's been, save for the pesky backup speaker going out and the alternator failing prematurely at 60K. Other than that, my only other wish is for more power. Of course, the 3.5 is sufficient for in-town driving, but coming from a stable of other cars that included a Mustang GT, Ferrari 360 and Corvette, it doesn't satisfy me on the highway. I know a 2017+ Sport would be the way to go, but I just can't justify spending almost $20K for a car that's considerably heavier and only has 60 more horsepower.
