newfie2626
Hey guys, First of all this is a great site. I had my 2006 ford fusion for about 3 months now. I love the car , I had a couple of TSB's done with the tranny with hard shifting and jerking. My question is when I apply the brake I hear a loud single click ,is this normal or not? I can feel it in the gear shifter too. Any help would be great. thanks Mike
DJE
The only click I feel or hear is when the brake lights come on or the cruise disengages. But, it's barely noticeable.

I live in San Diego, CA and the weather is usually pretty good. We got our first bad storm back in December 2009 and it has rained off and on since then to present day. After the first rain back in December 2009 I noticed that single click by pressing the brake pedal but only once when changing from one gear to the next and never hear it again. I am in the process of trying to figure out the problem myself. I would like to hear from you if you find out what it is before I do. I will let you know if I find out myself. But like I said I absolutely LOVE this car in every way and planning on getting a 2010 Sport “FULLY” loaded at the end of this year. This car is AMAZING!! It's what prevents you from moving the gear lever out of park without your foot on the brake. Perfectly normal, though some are louder than others.

gross
I have a 2008 Fusion with 33k on it. It has been to the dealership 4 times for clicking in the brakes. Heres how my clicking occurs: Pull into your standard issues parking spot. Time to leave. Put in reverse and back up Put in drive and proceed with very slight accelaration. Hit the brake - then POP! CLICK! TING! It happens just once but is very repeatable. Local dealership has replaced the Caliper Slide Pins on all 4 wheels as they did it 1 by 1 by 1 by 1. Once complete, the popping went away temporarily.....Now its back and headed back to the dealer. Im going to request new Calipers. Wood love to see a new set of brake pads for the trouble (5 trips to the dealer for same problem). I know this wont happen but a guy can dream. Other than that, we love the car! Wont hesitate to by another Ford Product. The Edge has my eye right now! Anyone else experience this? gross

I have 29k miles on it it started at about 26k. I took it to the dealership to have it checked out about 2 weeks ago and the lead service technician rode with me and heard what was happening. He told me it was the brake shift sliders and after inspecting the vehicle that there was nothing wrong with the car and unfortunately the repeated one-time click would continue. Everything else on the car is fine. If you find a solution to fix this issue please let me know.

If you hear a loud click when you press the brake in your 2006 Ford Fusion, you should have a skilled mechanic test the braking system and transmission to ensure everything is working properly. It is preferable to address any potential difficulties as soon as possible for peace of mind.Fm whatsapp
