whosinmyfusion?
Sold my 2004 ford f-250 super duty and bought my fusion. i miss everything about having the truck, but i sold it to my father so i still get to drive it a few time each year. i dont miss spending half of my paycheck on gas each week. i dont miss paying $300+ per tire i dont miss climbing a 4' ladder to wash my truck or the three days it takes to clean it compared to the two it takes to clean the fusion. i got a four cylinder fusion just for the gas milage. i like the car alot and will prob. buy another ford for my next car.
Monochrome11
I parted with a 99 Cougar V-6 to get a new Fusion. I bought the Cougar new in May of 98 and really liked that car. It was primarily my wifes car but I loved driving it and so did my wife. We were planning on keeping it a very long time and I kept it in totally reliable, excellent condition. My wife suddenly decided she needed a 4 dr to help transport her aging parents. A new Fusion seemed to be to perfect replacement. After driving a couple we decided the 3.0L provided the power we preferred with the potential to get as good or better mileage than the Cougar. I thought I was going to very much miss the Cougar and contemplated keeping it but I already have four other vehicles to maintain and having another was not practical. So far with owning the Fusion for two months, I have been so happy with it I don't miss the Cougar but still think about it every time I see one. The Fusion was a good replacement for the Cougar. It is not as sporty looking as the Cougar but has its own appeal. I am very happy with it so far.
2012_SEL
I went from a 1999 Mercury Cougar 2.5 V6 duratec What I miss: Paid off What I don't miss: Broken engine seals front end repairs Scraping over Dang near any speed bump Shot shocks What I won't be able to live w/out in the future: Sync i feel like such a boss ordering my car around Possibly sirius verdict is out on that one so far Heated seats and Auto lamp feature (Havent had either of these since my first car 1987 Mercury Cougar 20th anniversary which i still have)
Photi_G
What I had before: 2001 Mercury Sable LS Wagon with 127K miles. Still had plenty left, but was totaled in an accident. What I'll miss Leather, incl. the steering wheel cover Automatic climate and outside temperature Responsive throttle (no drive-by-wire, this was the real deal) TONS of cargo space heavy steering, nice handling, in general What I won't miss 16mpg average. Hp/weight wasn't the best on the early Duratec 30's Hard to maneuver Road noise/ rattle when going above 65 Speakers caused the trim panels to rattle when turned up too loud What I can't live without on my new Milan It's been a week and a half, and I still don't need gas. Solid 26mpg city/country road driving. Steering wheel stereo controls Dead silent on the highway Flies around turns at 40mph, no braking required. Aux input on stereo Actually fits in my garage It definitely turns heads. It's a sharp looking car, and I've been getting a lot of complements lately

BangorFusion
I traded in my 2005 Scion xB, show car. JDM lip kit, coilovers, JDM wheels, 8 tv's, etc. My wife and I have a baby on the way and the Scion was my only car, but only ever drove it to car shows - but we decided that we weren't going to be involved in the car show scene anymore, so the Scion went. I have wanted to get a Fusion since 2006, when my father purchased his first Fusion (and has since purchased a Sport) and I found my 07 SE with pretty good miles for the year and the price was right, so I made the move and haven't looked back...
ghoneycutt
Traded a 2005 Ford Freestyle SEL for the 2007 Fusion SEL. 2.3L What I'll miss: CVT Transmission. Quite Engine
Davidearlcox
I reluctantly gave up the reins to my very well loved and appreciated 1996 Ford Excort LX Hatchback with 236,112 miles on the odometer. What a car it was. I hope the Fusion will be as good.
jwrebholz
I sold a 1993 Camaro Z28, though not specifically for the Fusion. It just happened to be in the right place at the right time. What I miss-- First is the power. There's really nothing like having a big V8 under your hood. Second is the looks. That car was a serious head-turner. Bright red with a pair of 3" pipes coming out of a Magnaflow muffler. Dang it sounded good. Third? It was paid for in cash. No car payment and since it was old, cheap insurance! What I DON'T miss-- I don't miss that it was in the shop CONSTANTLY having something or another fixed. I don't miss the gas mileage. and I don't miss all the stupid little brat-ass rice-burners trying to "take" me at every [bLEEP]ing stoplight.
6SPEEEEDSTD
I finally retired my 1999 Honda Civic Hatchback with 275,000km it still worked great minus the fact that is burned more oil then gas and was getting a little cramped for the family. What I miss... Sportyness I loved driving that little S#$%box Cheap to run...at least oil was too bad then.. Hatchback....I fit a dishwasher in the back of that!! What I won't miss... Filling up the oil... Fixing it almost every week... The cramped back seat The waterleak for the hatch somewhere
Paul79UF
I went from a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP to a 2010 Fusion SEL. I really miss the HUD (heads up display) feature in my Grand Prix. It was so nice being able to drive without looking down to check your speed. But at least all the windows on the Fusion work reliably. I had so many problems with the weak power window regulators on the GTP.
cmyoung
Gave up a 98 escort 5 speed with 300000 miles on the body and trans, and 130000 on the motor. My dad bought it new drove all over the state of Pennsylvania doing bridge construction. The motor quit (spark plug fell apart and everything went bad from there) bought it off of him for $400 buck and put a junk yard motor in. I then drove it for the next 2 years driving to Hagerstown MD everyday an hour and a half one way. Moved down Md and the car would not pass inspection due to rust. Great little car... could chirp the tires in 1-3rd gears. Found my Fusion in Altoona Pa, and paid $10,000 for it all in cash!!
andrewdingemans
Traded in my 2000 Mazda Protege SE for my Fusion Sport. Will miss: Much better gas mileage. 600km to a tank (40L), now I average 300km to a tank and the tank is 20L larger. maybe also not having car payments Won't miss: It used to take forever to warm up the cloth seats soaked up stains no A/C VERY low HP (1.6L 4cyl) expensive replacement parts multiple tickets and accidents associated with it won't be able to live without from my new fusion: SYNC!!! (gotta love talking to your car) Amazing styling dependability throaty exhaust (then again can get on anything with a v6 or above)
Absolute_0
2001 Focus SE 2.0L with sport package. (220k miles, but was still going strong, didn't burn a drop of oil) Was a great little car that got ~30-32 MPG. Although my 2011 Fusion SEL is getting 24-25 MPG so I cannot complain too loud. What I will miss about the Focus: - A little better mileage - manual transmission (although the SST is still pretty fun, tbh) - fire engine red paint (but I do like my metal flake black) - cloth seats (although I like the look of the leather, I do not like sitting on it) What I love about my Fusion: - V6 power - still decent mileage - Sync - SST (as mentioned above) - again, like I mentioned above, I sill love the metal flake (metallic?) black - all around looks, instrument panel, console, and I just like the overall look of the Fusion body style, the style lines, the spoiler, the grill, etc - the Avenue wheels - the stereo has faaaar better sound - and of course, the new car smell (even though I am not the original owner, it only had 13k miles on it when I bought it, so it is still like new) If it holds up as well as my Focus did I will be thrilled. Fusionpursuit
2001 Focus SE 2.0L Street Edition Sedan [ 120,000 miles at sale, I was to keep it as a hand-down for my wife when she come finally come home, but I put a feeler up on craigslist and lucked out with the first contact within an hour of posting and he took my firm price of $4,000 back in September I already had the Fusion since last June, so I did have both cars at the same time for 3 months. ] What I miss Mileage? yeah it got better mileage, but I had to fill the tank often on 4th day of work week. (vs being able to drive my Fusion the entire commute week and still some left in the tank) Easier to Park / More Nimble in City/Parking conditions Cloth Seats (less worry about leather aging :P ) Paid-Off, but my Fusion is almost paid-off though. Was pretty reliable for the 10 years I owned it since new (I shall maintain and care for my Fusion like I did with my Focus for the years to come) Won't miss Less Power, 130hp vs my 263hp Using my aftermarket Garmin with lack of traffic vs my factory Navigation with travel link integrated traffic overlay for my commutes. Wear and Tear (recently did 2 motor mounts and of course did the required 120K timing belt to prep it for sale) 36K warranty on everything including powertrain..... (I ran into a powertrain issue at 38K miles (fuel pump crapped out and loose engine pulley, which I had to pay for) (but after that situation, my engine never had issues again) No heated seats Dated Interior Features Crappy Stereo Lack of proper Cruise Control Cancel/Resume feature (with my focus you could only temporarily cancel cruise control by touching brake, then press set to resume, while the Fusion has addition of a cancel button and no need to touch brake) 6 CD changer, now I stored all my CDs in the Fusion jukebox
tdowd91
Went from a 2009 Hyundai Sonata with 80k miles. Won't miss- Loud road sounds Poor resale value Lack of Bluetooth Lack of warranty Will miss- ... Nothing (hence the new car) Love having- Warranty Less miles Color (Sangria Red) SYNC Alloy wheels and dual climate control Cloth seats are better LOVE THIS CAR!!!
Cristina
I parted my 95 Honda Civic HB CX with after market audo system with body kit ended up blowing a headgasket so I have to get rid of if. What I miss: Attention Gas milage Quick acceleration on a full stop Getting around tight spaces and dinky parking spots punks reving their engine on the stop light cuz they wanna race me huge cargo space with the back seat down. What I don't miss: Having to get out of the car and move the front seat so they can get into the back. Getting stolen and broken into Punks beating on a race (I have V6 now Biathes!!) Can't see the incoming on the left cuz some behemoth truck or mammoth van is blocking the view.
3 point 5
I dont have a Fusion yet but my wife has had hers since 09. I am selling my malibu SS so I can get a loaded AWD sport. I love the fusion and always have. Thats why I am selling my Malibu. I dont really want to but it has 103,xxx miles. I will miss... The power... The looks that I got... the color... The handling... nhughes
I got rid of a 2010 Focus, the thing was a lemon, and the dealership that sold it to me helped me get out of it and into a fusion. The fusion was in last week for some warranty work and they gave me a focus loaner. I miss absolutely nothing about that car.
rtcaravan
i traded my 06 pathfinder for our 07 fusion s. it's plain jane but still a nice car. got lower payments and better gas milage. going to miss the power of the pathfinder and the abillity it tow and haul 7 people in it. i still got my jeep so i can go off-road, but that don't get good gas milage either. oh well.
midas
Just got my 2012 SEL Tuesday. Basically loaded with 302A with NAV and spoiler. Traded a 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited, purchased March of 2010, so really 2 years old. I would never have traded the Sonata under normal circumstances. But I've had some health issues lately, vocal cord cancer and then they thought I had cancer in my lung. So I made the decision that, after 39 years of marriage, it was time for my wife to learn to drive. I thought the Fusion was a better car for someone that was new to driving. Less power, better visibility and the blind spot and cross traffic monitors, I thought, would be safer. So I knew some of the things I'd miss. I mean, when I bought the Sonata I also tested the Fusion. So here's the list. Things I miss: Power Better gas mileage Styling Front seat leg room Nicer looking gauges Proximity key/Push button start Higher resolution nav screen (just looks sharper) Higher resolution rear view camera XM radio better than Sirius Nav system with nothing locked out when the car is moving White paint much whiter and looks better Turn signals on mirrors Things I like better in the Fusion: Much higher quality faux leather Bigger nav screen (8" vs 6½") BLIS/CTA Quieter interior Sync, although I suspect I won't use it much after the novelty wears off Overall voice recognition seems better Like the split screen capabilities on the nav screen Like that you can display song titles when map is full screen Rain sensing wipers (though it hasn't rained yet, I suspect I'll like it)
