Door Keypad Code Location

The code IS in the vehicle, on a sticker, just as resQengine described. It's really difficult to get yourself in position to see it, but it's there. I saw a lot more than one sticker, but the one with the code on it was there.

Place something on the ground outside the door to sit on, with your back to the interior of the car. Arch backwards and stick your head under the dash. Look up to your right (toward the outside of the car). Up in there somewhere is a sticker as resQengine described: white with 5 black digits on it, fairly large digits. The last digit was partially obscured by a piece of metal, but I was able to see enough of it to figure out what it was.

It will take a little bit of effort, and some decent body flexibility, but it IS there!

I spent 10 minutes with a flashlight and a mirror. All I see is the sticker on the knee airbag module. Do you have a hybrid?

Yep, I sure do. I imagine it would be very hard to spot with the smaller field of view that a mirror offers. You'd have to get really lucky. I think you have to get down there and see it with your eyes.

I can't do it at work, and it will be dark when I get home, but I will try to take a picture tomorrow morning.

WRONG!!! I have '10 Fusion Hybrid and leave the car running with A/C on HOT n HUMID days- lock it with keypad and come out to nice cool car!

Yes. The anti-lockout function only works with the power door lock button.

When you open one of the front doors and you lock the vehicle with the power door lock control (on the driver or passenger door trim panel), all the doors will lock, then all doors will automatically unlock reminding you that your key is still in the ignition. The vehicle can still be locked, with the key in the ignition, using the manual lock control on the door, locking the driver’s door with a key, or using the lock control on the remote entry transmitter portion of your Integrated Keyhead Transmitter.

OK folks I hate to say it but some of your descriptions are like my wife trying to give directions, that's all I’m going to say about that. :)

I have a 2010 Fusion Hybrid, we just bought used and the previous own must have lost the card with the key on it. I called the dealer and they said it would cost $80 to pull it off the computer, I guess it takes a while for it to spit it out, still a rip-off.

After several aborted attempts at locating it I finally found it, NOT where you'd expect it to be. Someone else mentioned they found it on a box; it's the remote module to be exact, located under the dashboard on the driver’s side just above the break peddle. Now I’m sure the person looking at the airbag numbers and I took his/her description of the location literally.

IT'S NOT ABOVE THE BRAKE PEDDLE, it's a black module to the left of the brake peddle, almost right against the left side of the car, mounted in a shiny metal bracket. It also has the fuse box mounted right on top of it.

This module has two cable harnesses that plug into the lower part of it; the cables come out towards you.

The cables are what make it hard to see, the code on my module was actually on the left side of the left-hand cable making it almost impossible to read from the right-hand side. If you stick you head under the dash with your face kissing the left kick panel and look straight up you should be able to make out the 5 digits, I had to really stretch my neck to see the last two digits followed by an immediate visit to the Chiropractor...

I hope this is a little more helpful to those who follow.

Now if someone could figure out a way to replace the Navteq maps with Google maps, short of sticking your phone on the dash, I'd really be happy. I'm not paying $200 for the updated, already outdated, maps.

You'd think that a Ford dealer's service department would know the location of the code on the vehicle, if it is in fact always located there... I remember seeing other threads that mentioned this as the location, but I've never checked for myself, don't want to have to look up your chiropractor.

Or maybe your dealer did know this and the 80 bucks was the charge to have a service tech crawl under there and then book his own appt with the chiropractor.

That code can be found on any car that has the remote keypad. You just need to know where to find the module. In the Crown Vic/Towncar/Grand Marquis, the module is in the drivers door. Apparently the module for the Fusions is up under the dash. In any case, the code is on a sticker affixed to that module. If the module is ever replaced, the new one will also have a sticker on it with its code.

Just found it on my 2011. It is on the the fuse box or whatever, on the right side ('front' view, facing the back of the car, not facing the driver's feet), just above a cable connector. I could see a blue/yellow symbol and a bar code. I had to use a small mirror and light to see the numbers.

The car does not let you lock the doors with the keys in the ignition or car running.

most definitely it does, i do it many times with my '11 ffh. it will just sit there like the car is off and when the hybrid battery gets low the engine will just turn on for about a 30-45 second run and then usually it will stay in ev mode for close to 4 or 5 min

I know this is a old topic, but figured would post for anyone else that might be looking. I did find the sticker under the dash on my 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid, took a bit of bending around to see it, but it is up there next to the fuse box.

Again, sorry for bringing the old thread up. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the info. Saved me the dealership cost.

I bought a 2010 hybrid for my wife who makes a 32 mile round trip commute in the city, and am amazed by how great this car is-comfortable, good power, nice features and incredible gas mileage. Unfortunately it did not have any of the owners manual materials in the glove box (but did have all service records and receipts), so I found this thread and found the door keypad code, thanks for this help.

I found a complete set of manuals and other included pulblications that came with the car originally on ebay for $14. so next will be a shop manual since I do all my own work. I'm happy to have such a great car in my rather large stable of drivers (eight!), and look forward to many years of actually SAVING money on gas!

You won't be able to do all your own work on this mostly around some of the hybrid components. Most common faults are 12 vdc battery, drivers inside door handle. O2 sensors and carboned throttle body. They're all easy to fix. The car needs a 12 vdc battery in good condition. If you start to get weird warning lights that seem to have nothing in common, change the 12 vdc battery first. Don't bother testing it because that doesn't always show a problem. They are $120 available only from Ford. The hardest part of a battery change is twisting the air intake tube to break the outer rubber gasket free to push it back out of the way to get at the rear battery tie down bolt.
