07' fusion antenna

I LOVE the new fusion. However, I just went to the NYC autoshow today and noticed a new large black straightup antenna on the roof of an 07'. It looks terrible. I wish they would have went with a nice shark fin like the MKZ has. Will this antenna be on all milans and fusions or only the cars with satellite? Is this the definite style of the new antenna?

Yes, the terrible-looking antenna is standard on all Fusions built after Sept. 6, 2006 (Job #2), regardless of what radio is installed. I, for one, would like to find a shark fin replacement for it. Anybody know if the MKZ one would fit perfectly or not?

You're not really Sirius about that, are you? :shades:

Good one Allen. But seriously, does anyone know if the shark fin antenna from an MKZ can be used as a direct fit replacement for the funky antenna used on a Job #2, 2007 SEL Fusion? The stock antenna on the Fusion is an ugly distraction. The '07s built after Sept. 6, 2006, do not have an antenna built into the rear window.

The Milan has its antenna built into the windshield. There is no external antenna at all on the Milan, so I'm kind of curious as to why there is on the Fusion.

The "sharkfin" antenna you refer to on the MKZ is for satellite radio. It's not a conventional antenna and would not function as such if installed on a Fusion.

I find it hard to believe that the Job #2 (built after Sept. 6, 2006) Milans and Fusions still have an antenna incorporated into the rear glass plus an antenna on the roof. It is my understanding that the mast antenna replaced the one in the rear windshield. We don't have Sirius radio, just AM/FM. Does anyone know if the MKZ shark fin antenna could be used to replace the stock antenna mast on a Fusion?
