After I did the tune I also had more gear in my car plus I drove it much harder since my 'butt-o-meter' told me it felt faster. Not to mention I love to listen to the sound of my exhaust in the higher revs LOL. So far I'm seeing the same MPG's. The winter will obviously be worse, and after an oil change it will improve. If I drove it the same as before the tune and took stuff out of my car I am pretty sure I'll see a tiny gain in MPG's but with the custom one Pat at Steeda here in Milton did for me, I told him to ignore the fuel economy in return for a tiny bit more power. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Hi Goodburbon. :D Just an FYI - Before you get too excited and cancel your order, the member that posted he is getting 20 mpg owns a 2012 Fusion with a V-6, not a 2013 Fusion. coiled40gary Posted July 26, 2013 Share Posted July 26, 2013 I have a 2013 AWD, a 120 mile a day commute, part in the mountains, up and down two ridges, with switch backs you have to look out the side windows to see the road ahead, then into the Columbia River Gorge on the Washington side (Washington side is one lane in each direction, hills and roll-over curves, Oregon side is 2+ lanes in each direction, flat and straight, Washington follows the terrain, Oregon bull dozed the terrain). Then cross the city of Portland (Oregon) from north end to the south end, on the bypass (that is a relative term) freeway. I'm getting 24.7 average according to dash gage. Reading these other posts has made me feel much better, though slightly disappointed following the hype of how economical the 13s are. I got 33 out of my 07 Focus, front wheel drive, manual trany. I get 26 out of my 04 Volvo S80 AWD, 2.5L turbo. I'm surprised my Volvo S80 gets slightly better mileage than the Fusion, with the Fusion being smaller and benefiting from all the new state of the art. They are both equally responsive to the gas pedal. However, the Volvo gets that mileage with premium gas, with regular gas, it gets about 24 and is noticably less responsive to the gas pedal. The Fusion is running regular gas, so there are points for that. Though, to me, that would imply that the Volvo is using knock detection and dynamically adjusting timing (or something like that) to benefit from the higher octane when present. I'm surprised the Fusion, leveraging from all the new state of the art, does not do something similar to improve mileage and performance if I put higher octane fuel in it. I have owned this car about 11 months and thought it was going to be an awesome vehicle to own. The past 5 months it has been at the dealersthem.since the only way it moves is you have it towed where ever you want to go. Ford builds quality junk. I should be fair to Ford since they have done absolutely nothing in standing behind their product. I have a $40k thast yuou can sit in and sounds like you driving a car. Thats what my grand children do. It will make a great play house for them. Thanks go to Alan Mulally and everone at Ford for a great job. If your goal was to destroy a once great american company, you have achieved an outstanding success. I averaged 33.5 mpg @ 73 mph on my recent road trip; California to Colorado. I was driving a 2007 VW Passat 2.0t and I got 31.5 mpg constantly. I do almost 35,000 miles a year, mostly highway. So far with my Fusion I am getting 22.7. It has 14,000 miles on it now so I know I am through the 'breaking-in' period. Now, my one disclaimer is I drive fast - somewhere between 77 - 85 mph. kennycoulter Posted February 2, 2014 Share Posted February 2, 2014 I have been driving my fusion for a few weeks now, and fill up more than I used to with any car, and the price at the pump is way higher. I sold an extremely built (about 530 rwhp) '03 cobra in april...... I shopped around for a really long time and waited to get something that I REALLY wanted.... the fusion that I got seemed to have every option that I wanted. I used to average 23-25 mpg in that cobra by setting the cruise at the speed limit and driving like an old man. I get the exact same mileage, according to the gauge, as that extremely fast and powerful cobra. similar weight, huge HP difference, all wheel compared to rear wheel, but with 275 wide tires compared to also a pretty wide 235..... I just did the math and with the three fill ups, including the firstone, I averaged an actual 22.43 mpg and 23.35 mpg. that is actually worse than my cobra. my old 1985 gt (carburetor with 2.75:1 or so rear gear) got a combined 27 mpg.... it hurts pretty bad. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I have tracked about 2/3s of my gasoline purchases and mileage via Fuelly (www.fuelly.com). I now have just under 10,000 miles. I really, really like what Ford did with the Fusion - it drives great, is extremely comfortable, the adaptive cruise control is fantastic - net, net, it's a lot of bang for the buck….except when it comes to gas mileage. I was considering a number of AWD cars when I bought the Fusion and a key data point that convinced me to take a risk on the new Ford were the published numbers of 22 City, 31 Highway, 25 Combined. Fuelly shows that I've driven 62% city, 28% highway over the past year. My average MPG over more than 6,000 miles is 18.0 MPG, with a best ever of 21.5MPG. And that 21.5 was coming down from Lake Tahoe to San Francisco, so it was all highway and half of it was downhill. I have only filled the tank with Chevron Supreme 91 octane. If I knew these figures ahead of time, there is no way I would have purchased this Fusion, no matter how nice everything else is (and it is nice). It sounds like others have gotten better mileage, but given that Ford took a black eye on the C-Max and Fusion Energi MPG numbers - http://insideevs.com/ford-fusion-energi-quietly-rated-at-21-miles-range-and-43-mpg/ - I'm beginning to think the Fusion AWD numbers have been smoke, too. The way I see it, I've got the Sport model and frankly have more fun driving "spiritedly" rather then grandma mode. thejunkie Posted February 3, 2017 Share Posted February 3, 2017 I just bought a 2017 SE, 2.0 ecoboost with AWD, i packed only 600 miles on it, but i cant get it past 14-15MPG.. i drive it soft, most of the time, when im teating the MPG at least, and i dont floor the pedal yet, idk. akirby Posted February 3, 2017 Share Posted February 3, 2017 Mileage should improve a little over the first few thousand miles but not a lot. Did you reset the computer mpg? Do you use remote start and/or idle a lot? Do you do a lot of very short trips (< 5 miles)? In the Winter I'm getting 12.6 litres per 100Kms (18.7 mpg) We really dont need AWD. We bought the Escape used. Will buy FWD next time. So far I'm finding it to be relativity close, though it is middle of summer and I only have 3 records so far.. But I'm getting opposite results as most here.. My mustang I had years of data logged in app, ranged from 8.91-10.69 L/100km or 26.4-31.7 mpg with average of 9.68l/100 or 29.17 mpg With my 2010 fusion so far I got 9.64, 9.04, 9.43 (average of 9.37) L/100km or 29.29, 31.21, 29.94 (avg of 30.15) mpg 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
