Slugger2007
So, after my little fender bender yesterday, the car seemed to be misfiring. I wasn't sure if it was all along and just got worse, or what. So today it started out lightly at about 1500-1800 rpm's, intermittently.... after an hour of driving, it got worse, and then the engine light came on. I called the dealer only to find out the techs were already heading home. As I have an OBD 2 reader, I baby it home to get a reading. P0303 is the code, a misfire on cylinder 3. So I check all the wires, connections, vacuum lines and everything looks good. I unscrew the plug wires for 2 and 3 and pull them out. Wow, the amount of water that came with them was incredible! When I peaked down into the plug cavities, there was water pooled in both, and it was starting to steam.... I dried them out and reconnected the wires and fired up the car..... no more misfire, and a much more stable idle, it was a bit erratic before. Water and electricity definately don't mix! Car runs great now..... Seems the detailer at the dealer got a tad carried away cleaning under the hood......
