acdii
3 items on my 2010 Hybrid. First, mushy suspension, it plows when I turn to fast, and is just mushy all around, and not able to find aftermarket prings for it yet. Grrrr Second, the seat is a little uncomfortable, there is a bulge on the cushion right where it presses behind my left knee, and gets painful after a while, I just have to remember to move my leg occasionally and I can live with it. Third, this is almost as annoying as #1, the engine has this tinny wimpy grrrrrrr, and being that its CVT, its not a grrrrrrrRRRRRRR, grrrrRRRR, grrrrRRRRR, but a GrrrRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr when you accelerate to 55-60MPH. I wouldnt mind if it was lower in tone. Well, I am keeping the 2010 for a long time, but I also now have a 2013, and #s 1,2, AND 3 have been resolved! I'll post back when I have complaints on the 13, other than it not having a Sony sound system. The stereo is OK, but not on par with the 2010. It also lacks AppLink, so I can't control Pandora with it.
Nuclear Fusion
I've only had my Sport AWD for just over 4 months, so something else may pop up along the way, but my only real complaint at this point is the soft shifts of the trans. I like hard, quick, shifts. Also, now I've noticed some click sound that is coming from underneath the car, especially when I reverse. Don't know what that is. And this. I'm not sure it's the same problem for JoeyToronto, but I've heard it from more than one person. My brakes click when I change direction(forward to reverse and vice versa). Most likely just the pads making noises in the calipers, so some lube should do the trick. Not really a big deal.

JoeyToronto
That doesn't sound right. You might want to take it in and have that checked. I actually went to my Ford dealership nearby and he told me that when it's on Auto the sensors take a few mins for the Heat/AC to turn on. I was trying to find out how to turn off Auto AC/Heat to allow me to turn it on manually.

The blower is on, just at a very low setting so that the system is not blowing cold air out at you. When the coolant warms up the blower will increase speed.
acdii
Update on the 2013. The overhead console buzzes, very fricking annoying. Gas mileage for the Hybrid is way too low, even for this time of year. The touchpad for the doorlocks , touching 7/8 9/0 to lock, doesnt work unless I touch it just right. Passenger seat is too low Trunk lid is too low, smack my head against it several times now. This car costs more then my 2010, and the passenger seat is forward/backwards power only in the 2013, while the one in my 2010 is full 8 way power. I didn't find out until a few days after I got it when my wife went to adjust the seat.
JoeyToronto
That my brakes squeek when it's cold out or when I wash my car, after I wash my car the squeeking doesn't last long. But still, brakes shouldn't react to these two, especially when it's only 1.5 years old. I've not been to the Ford dealership yet about the issue, because I need 2.5 hours just for them to check the car. I have warranty alright, but when you need to get it looked it you need 1/2 a day, and this is after I scheduled an appointment. barjon
Trunk lid is too low, smack my head against it several times now. acdii, I'm sorry to hear you have so many dislikes in your new 2013. I'm 6'4" tall and I was horrified the first time I saw the 2013's trunk in person. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm so glad I bought a 2012!
JoeyToronto
IMO, the thing only two things the 2013 is better than the outgoing model is obviously styling and engine. But as for anything else, nah! I lmuch prefer the driving position, visibility, seat comfort and materials in my 2011 SEL Luxury upgrade than the 2013.
GrayStrider
I hate the owner's manual - went to the index to find out what EV+ was when it first appeared - do you think it might be in the index, making it easy to find? Nooooo.... I also wish we could be in EV mode at 65 mph - why only 62???

Nooooo.... I also wish we could be in EV mode at 65 mph - why only 62??? Use the online pdf version and you can search the entire document for any word. Why "only" 62? That's as much as they could get out of it. The previous version was only 47 and nobody else comes close to 62. It's not easy.
FusionDiffusion
I also wish we could be in EV mode at 65 mph - why only 62??? Why "only" 62? Because there are RPM limits for the units inside the eCVT transmission. Above 62 MPH the ICE needs to run in order to "slow down" one of the units by providing rotation on another. It's sort of like if you brake one wheel on an open diff the other wheel will spin twice as fast. If the one wheel spins too fast you'll damage the diff pin so you need to allow some rotation on the braked wheel (the braked wheel represents the ICE). durasel
Noticed while reading through the 2013 brochure that the ecoboost engines require premium to achieve the rated performance numbers. Even though my 2010 Sport gets less milage, at least it runs on regular fuel.

The performance penalty is minimal.
acdii
The EB engine in the F150 also requires premium if you want to acheive good MPG out of it, at least a 2 MPG difference between 87 and 92. What I dont like about my car right now, its in the shop instead of my garage.

rkan
I have a '13 Titanium w/nav and 19" wheels I dont like the fact that Applink is not available on this config yet. That big center volume button on the Sony stereo is a waste since thats all it does. They could have made it mode dependant and multifunction like BMW's I drive. ( I grew to love that system and interface) No HID option. Come on! This is 2013! And why do I need to disassemble half the front end to change a bulb? Dont like the trunk fit or the fact that it is on those "sickle" arms. I like the "compound" hinge and strut type of trunk lid. less intrusion into cargo area. I only have had the car for 4 days, but I think I like the rest. I came from a BMW 335 coupe and I am delightfully surprised at the handling and damping.

2011se25
Exactly. All this is telling is you is that the more bars you have showing, the better the fuel economy. It's actually similar in concept to the vacuum gauges some cars had back in the day. As long as you kept the needle in the green area on the gauge, you were maximizing fuel economy. Here's an example from a 60s-era Pontiac: I had a Mercury Sable that did show instantaneous MPG but it only displayed when the cruise control was engaged. The 26' U-Haul I rented had one of these vacuum gauges. When I flicked the O/D disable switch the Revs shot up and the fuel economy gauge went into the green. Go figure. i have a 2010 Fusion SE 4cyl which I'll have had for 2 years this coming December and I've put around 23K miles on it, so I've had time to learn what I like and don't like about it. Before I start, I do want to say that I love this car. It is the most reliable and comfortable car I've owned. I actually like it better than the 2003 BMW 325i that I traded in on this car. I love the SYNC, the size is nice, it is usually very smooth (when the transmission isn't acting weird), decent power even in the 4cyl, etc. So, what don't I like: -Tow rating. I'd love to tow a small pop-up tent trailer. Most cars have some tow rating. As almost all the midsized cars I looked at had 1K ratings, -Not a Fusion thing, but a general car-market issue. As someone else said, it would be nice if they made a station wagon. Not everyone who wants more cargo space than a mid-sized car's trunk wants an SUV. I agree on the tow rating. I brought that up before and I got "Huh? Why would you want to tow? This is a CAR not an F-250" even though smaller cars like Corolla have a tow rating, older midsizes tended to have better tow ratings, and the same powertrains in the Escape have tow ratings. On the wagons I agree. Typically compared to sedan models, they have no real fuel economy hit, no larger dimensions, and give you significantly more cargo space. This is particularly true in the case of the older Focus, where sedan, hatch, and wagon were available. I've seen before references that car enthusiasts all want manual diesel wagons, but the general market doesn't.
FusionDiffusion
The 26' U-Haul I rented had one of these vacuum gauges. When I flicked the O/D disable switch the Revs shot up and the fuel economy gauge went into the green. Go figure. Since they only measure air pressure, vacuum fuel economy gauge are a display of fuel economy per rev, not overall fuel economy. So even though the gauge went into the green when you downshifted (less fuel per rev), you might be using the same or more fuel as you were before you downshifted (more revs). Impossible to tell which without access to OBD scan data or a fuel economy "bars" gauge like you get with the newer Fusions. But of course they work fine as a general guideline. I would love it if they brought over the wagon model of the 2013. It would be more practical than the ridiculously small trunk opening you get now with the "fastback" styling. They should have made the glass open with the trunk on the sedan IMO.

akirby
They should have made the glass open with the trunk on the sedan IMO. Then it would be a hatchback. Europe gets both a hatchback and wagon version of the Fusion (called the Mondeo).
mikejapp
Wow, those European hatchback and wagon models look nice! I could go for one of those. My 2nd car was a used '81 Toyota Corolla SR5 Sport Coupe that was hatchback and it liked it. I really like my 2010 FFH. I've adjusted to not having the headlights/tail lights automatically turn on/off like in my Envoy. But the one nit-picky thing I don't like is the A/C vent recirculate button doesn't stay closed when I get back in the car. I like having it closed and have to remember to hit the button every time otherwise I'll realize it when I smell exhaust from old cars and big trucks ahead of me. Can I get the vent to default to a closed position? I wish it would. As far as FFH fuel mileage, you have to work it. Know when to ease up on the pedal to get the ICE to shut off and know how far to press it back to control the electric motor for a bit when level or downhill. It requires some fine control over the pedal with small movements of your foot. Also don't expect mileage as good as Prius because Fusion is a larger and heaver car.
