darrel.e.wise
I didn't like the long delay from build to delivery. Once I got the car the only thing I don't like is my wife gets to drive it every day. I only get to drive it evenings and on weekends.
acdii
Decades back I had a 1979 LTD wagon, 5.0 V8 got 21 MPG. Could haul a ton of lumber or drywall or anything else that was heavy. However, that Mondeo is NICE for a wagon.
GhostRider
Then it would be a hatchback. Europe gets both a hatchback and wagon version of the Fusion (called the Mondeo). FusionDiffusion said that about the glass, not me. I just made a post fail when I posted it. Anyway, what country has that?

ROB281
Sounds like your wiper and/or windshield need to be cleaned. Well cleaned both and it still happens, though i did notice it only happens when I'm driving, sitting still there's no chatter
2011se25
Since they only measure air pressure, vacuum fuel economy gauge are a display of fuel economy per rev, not overall fuel economy. So even though the gauge went into the green when you downshifted (less fuel per rev), you might be using the same or more fuel as you were before you downshifted (more revs). Impossible to tell which without access to OBD scan data or a fuel economy "bars" gauge like you get with the newer Fusions. But of course they work fine as a general guideline. Yeah I know that, I just thought it was funny. It actually handled reasonably for being: A ) a U-Haul B ) a Chev :P All of Europe, Australia and parts of Asia gets the Mondeo HB and Wagon AFAIK. Some of those markets will get Estate and Saloon versions. Edited January 16, 2013 by 2011se25

outdoors35
1) Squeaky a/c blower motor 2) Sloshing sound under dash on passenger side 3) One light bulb on each visor mirror (wouldn't mind if it was not so dim) 4) Hesitating transmission between second and third (dealer tech says it's normal) 5) $652 bill to replace the throttle body at 46,000 miles (requiring a tow to dealer) 6) Broken fuel filler door spring 7) Excessive wind noise with all windows up (my Altima was as quiet as a tomb) 8) Excessively loud Sync volume even when radio volume is low (dealer says it's normal) 9) Binding sound when operating driver window 10) Useless fog lights
acdii
What I dont like about MY 2013 Fusion, is the poor Customer Service, the car itself, other than poor fuel economy is great. Going to any other car, unless it was more expensive, would be going backwards. If I were to go to a Toyota Hybrid, it would have to be the Avalon to get the same features, at about a 6-8K upcharge. On my 2010, lack of Applink, and soft suspension are my only gripes, oh and the seat presses against my leg the wrong way, but not many cars are comfortable in that sense to me. Must be my Sciatica. In 35K miles and 16 months, it has been a good car.
hermans
Absolutely no complaints about the car, but my wife does dislike one thing. She is left handed and when she presses on the button to open the key, it opens into her hand.

R1979MV
Hey everyone! I bought a 2013 Fusion Titanium on May 6th...and it's now coming up to September.. and I am still enthralled with the car. LOTS of gadgetry and the H-spoke 19" aluminum wheels in the Dark Stainless finish look totally hot with the Deep Impact Blue Metallic color of the car itself. Even with all my gushing with pride, I managed to find a few things to grouse about....which mind you I addressed in a recent new-car survey that a third party sent an online questionnaire that they said will ultimately get sent back to Ford - which I do believe, as Ford gets off on market research and surveys. ================================================================================ - Upon opening my doors or trunk, when it is raining or standing water drops are on the car, rain water manages to roll off the roof and trickles right onto the leather seat or scuff plates. Now I am a bit OCD about wiping those parts down each time it happens, having to do that each time it rains gets old. ================================================================================ - Also, I am noticing now that upon opening the trunk, Ford for the 2013 model has decided to go back to the old-school dual torsion bar spring/support design for raising the lid and keeping it open. The 2011 Fusion Sport I have has special trunk channel hinging that opens the lid in an almost vertical position. My 2013 (with 3,500 miles) is now starting to get that mid-to-late 1970's Ford trunk hinge squeaking. Takes me back to my 79 Continental Mark V - which the trunk lid would have a squealy squeak sound every time u opened or closed the lid. Although I plan on lubricating the hingery of the Fusion (as I did back with my Mark V) I think that type of maintenance is a bunch of bullshit in this day and age of engineering and technology advancements. ================================================================================ - The gloss piano black front quarter window pillar molding ahead of the main front door glass and behind the rearvew mirror on the LEFT hand side keeps popping out at the top. The RIGHT hand side appears to be properly installed. I took it to the dealer two times now, and they are now replacing the entire front weatherstripping that goes around that window and main door glass. You can snap the molding in - but then with the window moving up and down in the channel ( along with summertime heat ) the molding appears to spring back out of the retention channel with the added pressure of the window moving within the channel. *** It also appears that this seems to be a common problem on Fusions, as while I was at my local dealer - I walked the lot of about 10-12 Fusions they had in stock, and about SIX of them had the same issue with the LEFT side only. Every single RIGHT side molding on every Fusion on the lot (and mine included) are fine. I am suspecting this is either an Assembly Line issue - or even a third-party weatherstrip supplier issue (whoever makes the weatherstrips for Ford) - as if a bad batch got in the line somehow. It appears to be hit-or-miss. It will be interesting to see if subsequent parts may have a different engineering suffix (updated part) - of a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) to deal with this. ================================================================================ - Ford NEEDS to advance the headlight technology in the US - North America to match the Chinese/European Mondeo...FULL LED high and low beam - with active headlamps that turn with the direction of the steering wheel, a FULL width WHITE LED Bar at the lower-most edge of the housing above the bumper...and FULL amber-illumination LED turn signal strip right above the white LED bar. VERY high tech looking - within the same package. I am considering an upgrade when the car gets rolled out across the world. Just have to make sure that it is for a left-hand drive model, so the aiming is more in line with the US driving standards. ================================================================================ - And one more grouse... The tilt-telescoping steering wheel adjustment lever feels like it is almost above my shin!! A LOT further down the column than the outgoing 2010-2012 models. WIth how much Ford is pushing technology and luxury options, the higher-end (Titanium) models should have standard or even optional a POWER tilt -telescoping steering column, that could then be mated into the Memory Profile when you start the vehicle. *** Thats about it for now. It may sound nitpicky, but unless you communicate it about it back to Ford, they'll never know what they need to improve upon to try to make their models even more competent in the marketplace in real-world use. DeadButDreaming
I hate that it doesn't have a side marker (blinker) on the side of the car it is a safety issue for other cars since that car is long you need to have a light in the middle of the car telling other drivers where you are going... should have memory seats.. mirrors doesn't fold ... no push button start.. no ventilated seats... but still I love it
philphil
I wish they would've ran dual exhaust out the back on the 4cyl, and I would like a leather wrapped steering wheel. One more thing, real projected headlights for HIds. Honda got all these right on the 2013 accord sport. O'yeah more ponies!

Ford should do that - as even in a LINCOLN MKZ, it's a manual affair.... and even with that small item lacking in the Lincoln model, it's no wonder that brand is behind. An electric tilt & tel column is available in the MKZ as part of the 102A package.
GhostRider
I don't like the idea that I have to turn on my headlights when it gets dark. My 1991 (20 years ago!) Chev Lumina had automatic headlights, and so did my 2003 Impala. Since Ford can build a car with SYNC, why can't they make automatic headlights? What is so hard about turning on your headlights? DRL's are terrible! All to often, people think that because the DRL's are on that the taillights are also on. However, in most cars they arent on and its a safety issue. I just bought a 2013 Ford Taurus Limited with automatic headlights. Come Saturday, I am having the dealer hook up the computer to shut them off. Sorry, I am just not that lazy.
PublicHair
I hate that it doesn't have a side marker (blinker) on the side of the car it is a safety issue for other cars Being they are 194 bulbs you can simply splice a wire in to your park lamps as they are 3157 (3 wire) bulbs. You splice into the turn signal (blink) wire off the main park lamp into the 194 bulb wire (doesn't matter which one) and this will cause the side marker light to turn off when your turn signals are activated. The side markers will then blink in an alternating pattern with the main signal bulbs. I did this mod on my durango. Before the end bulb was just either on or off and no blinking. http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r238/adamjarvis/Durango/8795D01C-59BF-432E-BCD5-DFB6BE8FC318-16750-000001DDB6851C30.mp4
PublicHair
I got a 2012 fusion SEL v6. I'm past the stage of vehicles, but like what I have crisp and clean. The Fusion had the best bang for the buck. I pay either $400 a month in fuel just for the durango. Or a $250 car payment plus $150 in fuel. At least get something for my money. So my price was around the $17k mark. Not many options. Two months looking I knew the fusion was my best bet. And I lucked out paying $16,100 out the door with a 10 month old car and 27k miles on the clock. Mint interior, white piping still and no dings or dents. 88k bumper to bumper warranty extended (platinum group) and $260 a month. I think for the price and features/performance the fusion is a very hard car to pass up when looking in my price range. I was tossing the idea of spoiling myself and getting a new fusion hybrid (2013) or a Nissan Altima. But price wise.. I hate payments. Only thing I hate is the transmission. However I am noticing through my tests, high octane = smoother shifting. I currently run 93 octane and the tranny shifts smooth compared to hard shifts 2-3 and shift flaring. Oh and maybe the seats could have a little more bucket feel to them. My rear view rattles like crazy and the dash dimmer switch is loose. Both items bound to be replaced under warranty in a few weeks when ford picks my car up for an oil change prior to my trip. We are going on our first road trip to Colorado later this month for two weeks and I'm excited. Should be a smooth ride and the v6 should have enough power for them steep mountains!! fistfulladirt
Is it switching between HD and analog radio? Not sure, but there is definitely some kind of transition going on. It sounds like that is exactly what's happening. Do you know any more about this?
akirby
HD Radio is digital and if you have it set to automatic then once it acquires the analog fm signal it will check for a HD signal and if it finds it then it switches to HD. It should give you an indication on the screen that it's on HD (usually with a -1 after the station and a HD icon - I hardly ever listen to FM any more so I don't remember exactly). I think you can turn it off.
