Zzyzx
http://www.visualgarage.com/ I don't see Ford on their list of makes. How did you order yours and was it easy to install? Thanks.
Sigmaman
I don't see Ford on their list of makes. How did you order yours and was it easy to install? Thanks. Yes, I had the same concern so emailed them and was told that the VG Sharkfin Antenna Mark II model is compatible which is the one I bought. Install was very easy. Just unscrew the stock wip antenna and screw in the new antenna wire (VG provides the screw and washer). The instruction tell you to mark the position with 3M tape to center it but I skipped this step and just eyeballed it. Roof needs to be at room temperature so it'll stick well. You need a hair dryer to warm it up if it's not.

They need the following info: year/make/model/# of doors color code/color name For example: 2010 Ford Fusion SE 4-door JV/Sangia Red Metallic Once they get this info they will email you an invoice. I paid via PayPal. I don't remember other payment options so ask in the email if they except your payment option. After they receive payment you will get it in about 2-3 weeks.

slackerx10
Just installed my sharkfin antenna today. Looks good and paint matches perfectly. No difference in radio reception. Very satisfied and highly recommended. What about satellite reception? I just bought 2 months ago a pretty much stock 07 SE V6 but was told it wasn't supposed to have satellite in it but it does and works like it was meant to have it and I have no idea where the antenna for that is. Would you happen to know if it would work with that too?

Would you happen to know if it would work with that too? Mine is satellite ready but don't have it activated. The VG antenna fit perfectly and didn't have any issues. If you want to keep satellite radio then email them and see what they say. The only thing I found on the website regarding this is under the FAQ page and stated this: Can I use the VG Shark Fin Antenna to cover my Sirius/XM antenna? Yes, many of our customers have covered their Sirius and XM satellite radio antenna with our VG Shark Fin Antenna for a much more uniform and streamlined look. Your Sirius or XM antenna will have to be small enough to fit under the VG Shark Fin Antenna cover (i.e. Terk SIR-MINI SIRIUS antenna). It will required a slight modification to the shark fin (such as cutting a small groove) to allow the satellite antenna wire to pass through the back. Some customers pass the satellite antenna wire through the original antenna base gasket.

Was there anything you had to do to make the Sirius antenna fit? There's that note someone quoted above about having to cut the plastic to make room, and maybe some wiring issues or something?

con_fusion
it was very easy to install. No cutting required. Man, that looks much better. I have satellite also and nav, wonder if there would be any issues. What about warranty issues? Anyone see a problem down the road if you develop a radio/satellite/nav problem. So, does the black base stay and the sharkfin fits over that? Thanks
Mutnat
Man, that looks much better. I have satellite also and nav, wonder if there would be any issues. Nav shouldn't be an issue, the Nav antenna is in the dash somewhere I believe. It doesn't use the radio/satellite antenna area at all to the best of my knowledge. So, does the black base stay and the sharkfin fits over that? Great question.... I'd like to know too, please!
Sigmaman
So, does the black base stay and the sharkfin fits over that? Yes, that's right. All you remove is the wip antenna.
