Just bought a 2010 fusion sport AWD, new, atlantis green metallic, 260 miles, all options, today. I have to wait till monday to get it (stupid insurance company closing at 1pm.) .The test drive was fantastic. it's just as powerful (and quicker) than my '93 SHO (when it was 'new') that i've owned for 12 years. The performance on the icy roads (i live in fargo, it was -10 and WINDY when i test drove it) was spectacular (it whiped some totally under control shittys in the parking lot) .The options (fully decked out) made this car a no-brainer.Sorry SHO you've been a good one, but you have been outdone by a younger, sexier,(and quicker) model! Only 32 hours to go till it's in my hands! :shift:

Congratulations!

I just picked up a 2011 sport and love it!

I had a 97 SHO, and while the Sport is not the same as a 32 valve V8, it's starting to put the grin back on my face

Now, if Ford would just let the SVT guys at this car, we would have something!

On January 20, 2011, I picked up my 2011 Ford Fusion SEL with AWD. Black with black interior. Decked out with features someone 46 would appreciate. It has handled itself well in the snow we've had in NY (33 miles north of NYC). I haven't driven it where there is more than 3" on the road, but being someone who is cautious and has had 4x4 vehicles before, I don't take that fact for granted. Slow and steady wins the race when driving in bad weather.

So far, so good. My vehicle had to be driven to NY from Westborough, MA, so I got it with 200 miles on it. Well worth that wait.

I GOT IT TODAY!!! ugh the wait almost killed me, i couldn't sleep last night. What a day to get it. It was -5 today, a couple inches of snow over night, and 30 mph wind gusts! Once I FINALLY got out of work. i drove it for about 5 hours around town. picking up friends and giving them a demo ride! The roads were polished by high winds and drifting snow. This car performed marvelously!!! I still need to get more used to the AWD, but wow! what a difference it makes! I should save alot of gas money just because i'm not spinning a intersections for 4 seconds before getting traction. I LOVE THE SYNC SYSTEM! In preperation this weekend, I filled a flash drive with about 2,500 songs. Plugged that baby in, and, boom! Instant music library all at the touch of a button. The ambiant lighting controls are a great touch. I cant belive how roomy it was, i had three others inside and we were all comfortable, execept for headroom in the back. The only problem I had was the low tire presssure light came on. but such a drastic tempature change from the show room floor to artic tundra i'm sure is the cause. Today was a very good day! P.S. I tried to add photos but the files were too big. will rectify later.

GB- They have to be workin on one, they just don't have a classic tie in for it. They cant call it a 'supersnake' or 'cobra jet' or 'mach'.... maybe 'Fusion LTDII Broaghm" Ha! My first car was a 78 LTD II Brogham' that thing was sweet! 351w with posi,,,,, a handmedown from my mom.

ps my last car was a 93 SHO. The one thing i miss is a deep engine note.

I took her on our first road trip today! A short one, 200 miles round trip. I had to show it to my cousin and his family! Most of the drive was interstate, but my cousin was navigator for about 30 miles of winding snowy back roads (some of them gravel) and it perfomed wonderfuly! The all wheel drive is splended!

Figured out my MPG at different speeds: City -17MPG, 60mph 28mpg, 75mph-21.5mpg, 80mph- 20.3mpg. 105mph-?mpg (only for a second, cant goose her too hard yet, only 500 miles, shure was Smmooooth tho) The Nav system guided me to the middle of nowhere no problem! I can't wait till summer!

Eagle RS-A tires? Your are a brave man driving those things in the northern winter areas (especially for the sports size).

Yeah i see they are not that well rated on snow. But I tell ya, I've been driving snowy minnesota back roads for over 20 years and than a few times ive ended up like this :headspin: This baby handled very well, love the AWD!

Oil change at 837 miles? Why so early?

Because i read this from popular mechanics :

Oil

I customarily change the oil in a new engine after about 20 miles, and again at 1000 or so. That 20-mile oil, you would think, would look pretty much like fresh oil right out of the bottle. Wrong. It usually looks more like metal-flake paint, iridescent with tiny particles of metal worn off rubbing surfaces inside the new engines. After a few hours of operation, this completely normal phenomenon slows down as the rings, camshaft, lifters and bearings burnish their respective mating surfaces.

I normally like Mike Allen and his advice but this is just plain wrong. Any particles big enough to see would have been caught by the oil filter. If there was any chance of damage the mfr would specify an early first oil change interval. I suspect this is a leftover byproduct of older engines and it's no longer applicable.

Either way, Can't hurt.
