Trailker Hitch on Fusion?

Look down the page to "Cargo-Hauling & Towing" there is a thread on trailer hitches. Owner manual does not favor towing. I will put one on for a bike carrier. Rereading your post again I see that's a great question. Is The FFH that different from the regular car that a trailer hitch wouldn't fit. You could call E-trailer and ask. I have dealt with them and they gave me good service.

New here and wondering has anybody put a trailer hitch on a Fusion hybrid? Also wondering if there have been any recalls for the 2010. Am considering buying a used FFH.

I put one on my FFH for a bike rack and platform carrier, not a trailer. See:

for instructions, pictures and discussion.

I am not aware of any recalls for 2010. There was a minor campaign to tune the regen to brake transition calibration software, but it wasn't an issue for me before or after the adjustment. I have 30K miles on mine now with zero issues. I got 42 mpg on the last tank. The average for the full 30k miles , all driving conditions based on actual complete 100% fill-up data is 38.55 mpg. I do get about 2 mpg better mileage with 100% gas, no ethanol instead of the 10% ethanol gas that is common. (Not to be confused with 89 or 93 high octane gas, 100% gas is still 87 octane). But it costs $0.17 more per gallon, so it's about an exact wash on cost for me. Higher octane gas will have no positive impact on your mpg. A used FFH would be a good buy in my opinion. Taxis fleet Ford Escape Hybrids in California are getting 300K miles out of their nickel metal hydride batteries.

There was a recall on the 2010 involving the front passenger seat. Apparently the seat back can go forward in a collision. Recall involves replacing seat brackets.

The FFH manual specifically prohibits trailer towing, but you can certainly attach a bike rack.
