Should I Scotchguard before coffee introduces itself to my cloth seats?

Hi Fusion fans! I have a new SEL I-4 with charcoal / black cloth seats and have been thinking about using a spray on fabric protector ( Scotchguard is the only brand that I am aware of. If there some other better brand out there, then please let me know.) as coffee drinkers, between my wife and I, a spill is or two is unavoidable. Is this stuff ok to use ( I mean safe to live with after it has been applied.) or should I just live with the spill and clean it as best I can? Or is there a better way to deal with this?

Any thoughts?

Apply it before you spill. I've used it for years with no health problems.
