What are some of the repair/maintenance issues that I need to be aware of that are associated with this model? Does the clutch assy hold up well? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Swerzman Hi Swerzman. :D Welcome to the Fusion Forums. There are no maintenance issues particular to the Fusion that you need to look for. What you need to look for are all of the usual maintenance issues any used vehicle with 54,000 miles may have. Ask to see all available maintenance records. Ask if the vehicle has ever been in an accident or had body work done. Check all body panels for evidence or replacement/repair/repainting. Check all fluids to see if they are filled correctly and not dirty. Check the engine/transmission/clutch for proper operation, leaks etc.. Check the brake system for proper operation, leaks, unusual wear etc.. Check the suspension for damage/unusual wear. Check the tires for remaining tread life and unusual wear. Check all lights, electrical accessories etc. for correct operation. In other words, check over the entire car with a fine tooth comb. Another option I would highly recommend, if you should be lucky enough to have a trusted mechanic or shop: Once you have narrowed your shopping down to this one vehicle, have that trusted mechanic/shop inspect the car before you purchase it. The peace of mind will be well worth the minimal charge. If you don't have a trusted mechanic or shop, ask a car savvy friend along to take a look at the car with you. You can also have a Car Fax report run to see if anything has been reported (i.e accidents etc.). However, keep in mind this will only show you reported incidents, and not all incidents are reported/reportable. But at least it will show you anything which was reported. bfever74 Posted June 13, 2011 Share Posted June 13, 2011 I have an '06 with the 2.3 and a manual. 90k on the clock and still going strong with all the parts it came with off the assembly line.
