jeff_h
Does anyone know how to stop the SYNC from asking to run a Vehicle Health report while driving? Did not have this problem until the first QUALITY CARE MAINT. service....and yes my battery died when they were done. Below is a copy/paste from the Sync Manual, give this a try: Automatic reports (if equipped, U.S. only) You can choose to have SYNC automatically prompt you to run a health report at certain mileage intervals. To do so, you must first turn on the automatic report feature. To access: 1. Press or PHONE to enter PHONE MENU. 2. Scroll repeatedly until VEH HEALTH appears in the radio display. 3. Press OK to confirm and enter the VEH HEALTH menu. USER PREF will appear in the radio display. 4. Press OK. AUTO REPORT will appear in the radio display. 5. Press OK. Scroll to select from AUTO ON or AUTO OFF. 6. When the desired setting is in the radio display, press OK. Mileage interval (if equipped, U.S. only) Once you have turned on the automatic report feature, you can then choose at which mileage intervals you would like to be prompted to run a health report. 5. Press OK. Scroll to select from 5000, 7500, or 10000 mile intervals. 6. When the desired setting is in the radio display, press OK. When the chosen mileage is reached, SYNC will automatically prompt you and ask if you would like to run a health report. You can then accept and SYNC will send you an e-mail with the information or you can choose to have SYNC remind you later.
GhostRider
I have this issue on our '10 Fusion SE. We were on our way home from Detroit this weekend and it kept asking. Annoying!!! Who gets notified of the health report? Neither the wife and I got an email. Edited November 4, 2012 by GhostRider

lolder
You have to have the e-mail checked in "Notification Preferences" at the Sync on line site. Of course you have to have registered also.
propwash
I was notified today that there is a Sync update available for my vehicle (2012 SEL without Nav). When I started the process of downloading it, I was informed that I should do a Vehicle Health Report first. I am assuming that this is something that is done through my cell phone. The problem is that I don't use my phone for internet access, and therefore I don't have a data plan with my phone. The web site says that the last sync update was done in February of 2012, which is the month that the vehicle was first put into service. I don't know if this is the first Sync update for this vehicle published since then, or if I have missed some others. I have only owned the car since November of 2014. Is there any way to do a VHR without going through my cell phone, which cannot connect to the internet? If not, am I losing any good features by not being able to install this latest update? I just had a thought that might work. Right now, my phone is the only one paired with the car's Sync system. Could I have my son pair his phone with the car and then run the VHR through his phone, but have the results sent to my e-mail address, rather than his phone? This is the only work-around that I could think of. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
dogo88
I don't see any reason why you cannot use your son's phone to get the report sent. When I've used it, the reports isn't sent to my email address but to Fords owner website where you log on to it and get the report.. I believe the web site is owner.ford.com and you will need to register with your VIN #. Dan
jeff_h
You should be able to run a VHR with the report getting sent by your car through the cellular connection back to the Ford owner server. From there you can log into your Ford owner account and view the results. But if you use someone else's phone, be sure that cell number is associated with yoru Ford owner account for receiving the VHR, or else the Ford owner site will likely reject the incoming report.
lolder
Just use your paired cell whose number is on your Ford Sync account. The data goes by the cell call, not the internet.

The system places an outbound call through your cell phone and transmits the data through that connection. You should be able to run one with your device; however, it is not a requirement. We suggest running the VHR in order to ensure you are not already at the current version or too far behind to obtain the new update. I suggest attempting the VHR and if you have any issue with your device, move forward with the update. I'm here to help if you have any additional questions. propwash
Thanks to your suggestions, I was able to get the VHR sent in with no problems. Once I did that, I tried to instatll the latest Sync update. However, I couldn't get it to install. I'll post more about that in the Sync forum. Thanks again for the help. 89sandman
FordIvteam I think it's awesome that you guys are on this forum and when necessary you give factory advice right here. Saw on another post where you were moving a repair up to the regional manager to help a member with a problem, what service!!!
