2011 Ford Fusion SE w/ apperance package?

Recommended Posts

I have been trying to find one in Tux black but it seems to be impossible aside from the one I missed out on by a few days. Is it just me and my area (MD) or over all just hard to find those? I prefer the wheels it comes with and exhaust, the sporty look is nice too plus the one I saw was V6. Same with 2010 just curious how rare they are if I will have a chance in finding a new one or even used one soon or if I should just settle for something else. Thanks.

Hi Nick. :D Unfortunately, most Dealers do not stock as many cars as in the old days. Just not economically feasible. In addition, your color choice currently works against you, since there was a hold on Tuxedo Black Metallic vehicle orders (among a few other colors) as a result of the paint pigment being in short supply due to the earthquake/tsunami in Japan.

You can either have your Dealer do a search for the car you want or factory order one. Too late to order a 2011 now, but you can order a 2012.

Personally, I always factory order my vehicles. While it means I have to wait 6-8 weeks, it gives me time to sell my old car privately (for a nice overall profit versus trading-in) and gives me the exact car that I want (color, options etc.) without unwanted extras. Plus, you receive the added benefit of getting a car that was not potentially abused by God-knows-who during test drives etc..

Anyway, best of luck in your search. :beerchug:

Thanks for the reply. I did hear about that hold on the color, I have not seen a shortage of the color around here though, just mostly every car has the same packages. Factory ordering would not be a big deal wait wise, just I also wanted to be as price friendly as possible since I did find what I wanted already here. I imagine factory ordering makes things a little more expensive, fees, etc. Trying to have my cake and eat it too heh, but only because I could have if I saw the car a week earlier. Any idea when Ford will show the 2012 or give some ideas on cost?

Hi Nick. :D As far as large inventory of various packages, again Dealers do not keep as many combinations on the lots as in past years. Ford, like most automakers, is no longer producing large Inventory and forcing Dealers to take cars that remain on the lots until they are sold at fire-sale prices. They tend to order popular combinations for their stock orders. What you are looking for may even be a popular order combination, but since it is popular it could be sold out since it is the end of the model year. That is one of the dangers of waiting until the end of model-year production run.

Concerning the cost of Factory ordering your specific car: When the Dealer orders a car from Ford, an order is an order, whether the Dealer orders it for you or for their stock. Therefore, for an educated buyer, Factory ordering is no more expensive than purchasing a car from the lot. Fees are no different, no matter what B.S. story some salesperson may try to tell you otherwise (again, as buyers we need to be educated to avoid being taken advantage of).

2012 models are basically the same car as the 2011's. A few color/trim changes are about it. Pricing should be about the same as the 2011's. Any price increase would be negligible. With the current economy, no manufacturer is going to raise prices much. Of course, Incentives/Rebates on leftover 2011's will initially be higher than on new 2012's, but as always the 2012 models will see larger Incentives a short time into the model year.

Hope this information helps.

Good luck. :beerchug:

It helps, big thanks :) Unfortunately the chance to get a new car only came now, well, April. My best bet now I figure is to hope I find what I want in 2011 for any sales for end of year. If not, order what I want exactly once I can. Again thanks for the info, I know dealing with dealers is a headache I have been there.
