bbf2530
Have oem shop manuals (3 volumes). Will research more, but know that tests on, off, steady throttle, brake & engine back-torque loads all experimented with telling my "butt" that stability control (not traction) is 2-level mode...on & something else. Now I having fun..ur comments are relevant 4 me, sir. Hi machonemoto. :D Just to corroborate the information which FusionDiffusion has provided, mainly to avoid confusion for others who may read this thread in the future - On the current Fusion and MKZ, there is no "ESC LESS ON" mode. Just as FD explained and as described in our Owners Manuals, pressing the dash button only temporarily disables the traction control portion of ESC. The stabilty control portion of ESC is fully on, all the time. Unfortunately, any comparison to the Taurus SHO or Police Interceptor is invalid for one of the very reasons mentioned; The Fusion and MKZ have no "Sport Mode" similar to those Taurus models. And for those wondering...no, the Fusion/MKZ SST trans mode is not a "Sport/Track" mode which disables or lessens ESC intervention. Perhaps this feature may become available on the new 2013+ Fusion/MKZ, but it is not present now. Hopefully, this will avoid any confusion for others. Good luck. :beerchug: Edited September 13, 2012 by bbf2530
Waldo
+1 on what bbf says above. The Taurus SHO Perf Pack and Police interceptor do have "ESC LESS ON" modes. The Fusion does not.
