EXPERIENCES UP TO 100K MILES

Just thought i would start a thread about the 2.3 Fusion owners out there who have hit 100k and the experiences you have had with the car, good or bad.

My car, 07 5spd that just hit 100k, and i can't say enough good about this car. I have put a HARD 100k on my car and the only problem i have had is one dead battery and a set of tires.

From the first day of owning the car( bought used with 7k miles in 08) i have drove the car very hard, its a 5spd and it has seen its share of no lift shifts from 1st to 4th gear, and e-brake power slides.

I get a steady 33mpg on the highway, and the only thing i've changed on the car is 15 percent tint, removing the spare tire, jack, and spare tire carpet cover(trunk carpet) which feels like a good 50lbs of weight removed.

To this day car is flawless, transmission is as smooth as day one, and engine runs as quiet as ever. I am currently in the process of upgrading my wheels to the 17x7 aluminum Fusion wheels( Has the 16 inch steel now)

One bright spot was recently "racing" my co-worker in his 08 Golf with the 2.5ltr 5cyl in "Sport Mode" and staying dead even until hitting the limiter at 112mph.

And yes i know....4cyl Fusions are NOT FAST, but it did feel good staying neck and neck with a more powerfull, DSG sport mode auto. ( I no lift shifted when ":racing" himLOL)

So thats my little bit of info, just wanted to see if others out there have had as good of an experience with their Fusions at a high mileage and would like to brag a little about their cars!!!

Leaking door seals per the TSB. Unfortunately my father had the car from 10K-40K so when I got it back and went to the dealer. :censored: Out of warranty.

I also noticed that the power steering pump seemed noisy like the 90s Fords did. Dealer said no problem found, it was normal. 40K. It is louder at 90K.

Weeping rear main seal first spotted at 60K. Now is definitely a seeping rear main seal at 90K.

Rust on roof near windshield and on trunk lid by the chrome trim spotted at 60K. This car only spent two full winters up north. And c'mon, the :censored: roof??

Torque strut mount at aprox 80K.

Thermostat and intermittent check engine light when the temps are 50 and below for running too cold. In the middle of the repair at 90K.

I remember one of the best professors I ever had said "don't finance a car longer than the warranty term and don't buy domestic." I thought maybe a Mazda designed and Mexican assembled vehicle would have sufficed. But I guess even "foreign" cars will have their problems too.
