twiggy144
Summary from the shop manual for a 2007 3,0L engine: 1. remove the overfill tank cap 2. place a suitable container under the radiator draincock 3. open the draincock, allow to drain, close after draining 4. remove the bleed valve on the upper radiator hose 5. fill the cooling system through the overfil tank untill the coolant flows from the bleed valve and the coolant is on the MAX fill line on the overfill tank 6. install and tighten the bleed valve and the coolant tank cap 7. start the engine, let idle for 10 minutes, 8. if coolant level falls way below the minimum fill line, stop the engine, allow the engine to cool, add fluid in the coolant overflow tank, repeat stop 7 9. start the engine, turn the heater to the MAX position 10. run the engine at 2500 RPM for 10 minutes 11.repeat step 8 if necessary 12. check coolant level in the overflow tank and top up as necessary.

twiggy144
I flushed my radiator today. Pretty easy job. Only 4 litres of coolant came out by gravity, by the radiator drain valve. This is a little less than half the total coolant fluid capacity of 9 litres. Dont know if there is another drain plug somewhere on the block, but I decided I was not going to look for it. Instead of that, considering only half the old fluid was removed, I will do the next flush in 2 years instead of 3 years as per the recommended maintenance schedule. This works works for me.
