tj42gut
Hello! My name is TJ and I have an 07 fusion se. I've been doing research for a while because my car has a problem that seems like everyone is having also. I have this annoying squeaking sound under my front passenger tire. It only does it at slow speeds less than 35 mph. When I make a right hand turn, it makes this hard grind sound. It doesn't grind like it's going back and forth. It just makes one loud grind. And the tricky thing is, it only does it in cold weather. Ford can't find anything wrong. Jiffy lube can't either. Brake masters lubed the entire under chasis but it's still doing it. Please help me! Thank you. My car is at 60382 miles.
tj42gut
Also, last year it was doing it but this year there's a squeaking sound inside/under the steering wheel when I make a right turn. Could it be my rack and pinion? If so, how much does it cost to repair it? Also, why does it only do it when the outside temperature is cold?
Banshee
I would think the drive shaft. it allows your front drive wheels to spin at different speeds when you are turning. Edited December 24, 2011 by Banshee

The issue you are having with the car may (very likely!) fall under TSB 07-18-6 SEPTEMBER 2007 Drivetrain - Front Axle Clicking/Ratcheting Noises ( replace front CV shafts). Ford Fusion TSB 07-18-6 should be covered under the 2007 Powertrain Coverage ( 5 years or 60 000 miles, whichever occurs first for all 2007 Fusion/Milan models).
