emkorial
Anyone know if there are any aftermarket clock replacements for the analog clock in the SEL? Or how to get the clock open so the cheapo plastic arms can be replaced?
NaplesBill
How about the clock out of the Zephyr?
emkorial
It says 'Lincoln" on it. how do you remove the fusion clock anyways?
Guest urnews
Surely you jest. The analog clock is a fine touch. Easy to read, easy to set. Digital clocks are the pits. The analog clock is a plus. :happy feet:
robertlane
When I first say it in a picture, I thought it looked odd, however, in person it looks really classy.
emkorial
The analog clock may be a nice idea, but it was horribley implimented. You can still see the plastic lines on the cheapo arms of the thing.

The trim panel around has to come off, then there should be screws holding it to the dash. You will have to get a trim panel for an SE model if you want to eliminate the clock all together.

The analog clock in our 2007 SEL AWD is an altogether welcome change from those silly and tacky digital clocks. It is a satisfying nod to tradition and very upscale to boot.

urnews
I have no desire to remove the clock, I'd like to spiff it up a little. Emkorial, It must be the power of suggestion at play here. I have decided after a month that the clock does look cheap. The analog clock idea was a good one, IMHO, but not very well implemented. The one in the Lincoln (no, it is not a direct swap-out) looks much, much better. Bet FoMoCo could have gotten, or made, a much classier clock for a buck more apiece. Oh well, that's the way the cookie crumbles, as some say. Maybe it will grow on me. I really do think it was a good idea though. eiching1
Concept good! Execution..HORRIBLE! Just another example of why I will go back to imports the next time around. The American companies just do not seem to get the idea of doing the little things right. The interior fit and finish in my Milan is far below my wife's Honda CR-V. I just do not understand how they can continue to to produce cars that have stupid issues that have been solved by cars like Honda, Toyota etc. years ago. Or why they would put a cheap clock with plastic hands in these cars ($20,000+). I could see it in a Focus or some other base line car (think Yugo) Hey add $10-$20 and put in something with metal hands that has a little smoother movement! It's just sad.
