2011se25
So I have 16" Ford steel wheels that came as part of the "free winter tire package" and the original lug nuts from my 17" steel. Is there any reason why these wheels wouldn't work with the wheelcovers from a 2006-2009 Fusion (lug nut length, special retaining clips, etc)?

Hi 2011. :D I am a little confused as to exactly what you are asking, but I will give it a shot: If I understand correctly, you are asking if you can use the wheel covers from one set of wheels on the other (either 17" to 16" or vice-a-versa? If that is correct, then the answer is no. 17" wheel covers will not fit properly on a 16" wheel, nor will 16" wheel covers fit on a 17" wheel due to the differing diameters. If I am misunderstanding your question, I apologize and just ignore me. Good luck. :beerchug:
Geforcefly
I think what the OP meant was whether or not the 16" wheel covers from the 2006-09 Fusion S will fit his 16" Winter package steel wheels. I wouldn't know but if you get no additional input, try getting one from a wreck or junkyard and see if it fits before getting 4.

bbf2530
Yes, that's what I meant, and I thought what I said. Hi 2011. :D Wow, the old cliche that "No good deed (or attempt at a good deed) goes unpunished" really is true. Therefore, I will take the hit for not knowing every possible Fusion wheel combination from 2006-2012 off the top of my head (or in this particular case, that the 2006-2009 S came with wheel covers). I mistakenly thought you meant the 17" wheel covers which your 2011 SE 17" steel wheels came with. As I clearly stated, "If I am misunderstanding your question, I apologize and just ignore me. " So, will the 2006-2009 Fusion S 16" factory wheel covers fit your 16" "free winter wheel package"? First, only if the spoke pattern of your 16" "free winter wheel package" is exactly the same as the spoke pattern on the 16" factory wheels. Additionally, as your 2011 SE 17" steel wheels are, I believe the 2006-2009 factory 16's are "Design Wheels" and the wheel covers are specifically made to fit them. These factors would play against the chances of them being interchangeable. However, since only you know what they look like at the moment, it would be tough to answer that question. So as Geforcefly suggested, if you get no additional input, try test fitting one from your local Salvage Yard or another source before buying four. Good luck. :beerchug: Edited January 29, 2012 by bbf2530
redfire06
what style are the wheels? (i can probably answer this for you as i may or may not sell used hubcaps) the stock wheel covers or the S SE 06-09 are a very flat style and actually do not fit my stock mazda 6 16" wheels i use for snows on my car therefore unless they are the 06-09 wheels i would say they probably won't fit correctly. post up a photo i may be able to ID them

Let me know if you need any other angles:
redfire06
ok, those are indeed the 06-09 fusion stock steel rims. so those covers would fit. or do what i did for a few seasons (i have 10+ steel wheel lugnuts too) which have the little flange for the wheel covers to mount they also mount the police package crown vic caps nicely for that official cop car look
