zigzag1111
I recently bought a Hypertech 42009 Max Energy Performance Chip off of Amazon. After poking around, I found a chip for $200 (instead of $330) that offered 40hp and 40 ft/lbs of torque increase (vs. 15hp and 21 ft/lbs). Does this seem reputable? I can't find any reviews or other places that sell it. 3 point 5
Just a little tip. There is no such thing as a chip for most cars including ours. Dont believe everything you read. You are not going to get that kind of power. You need a profesional tune to get anywere near those #s. Good luck with your "chip"... akirby
Pure unadulterated BS. If you want to change the engine and transmission performance you need something like a SCT reprogrammer with custom tunes from people who know what they're doing. And even then you're never going to get 40 hp or lb/ft increase on a 220 hp engine. Edited March 29, 2012 by akirby
Oldguy16
What everyone says is correct. If you did an intake, exhaust, and had the car professionally tuned, I say maybe 20hp gain, but I wouldn't expect any real gains unless you add a supercharger, turbo etc.
zigzag1111
I did do a K&N cold air intake (I filmed it, and did a frame by frame, brought 0-60 down from 6.9 to 6.65). I have decided that I am going to just stick with the Hypertech because it seems more likely to actually do anything. I will post any results I find once I install it. And thank you all very much for all of your advice.

zigzag1111
After getting the timing down, I got my 0-60 to 6.25. And that's without changing the engine cooling temperature.
