I am pretty sure you can add those mirrors, call your dealer up, and see what they say, if you like the blind spot mirror, then it should be a simple swap. Oh yea, the cross traffic alert, totally forgot about that. Yea, it does give you that, that feature is nice, but I would raher have the blind spot mirrors instead of the BLIS. And believe it or not, my Sport is getting better gas mileage then my 2008 SEL AWD did, no BS on that one. I could not believe it, but it is.

I am also looking for a 2010 fusion sport.

Can I kindly ask what you paid out the door for it?

it was listed at 29,000 with 11,000 miles

my dads friend is a manager and he gave us a deal, plus i traded in my old 08 fusion as well so it was about 18,000 after everything was said and done

hey I wanted to increase the HP and possibly MPG of my 2010 sport, I was looking up performance chips. Are they worth it/ do the really work? I found one at this site

http://www.gfchips.com/fordfusion.aspx

any thoughts?

Yes. Save your money. Go out for dinner instead.

There no replaceable "chip" in your car's ECU. That went out in the 1980s. If you want some slight gains in performance you'll have to purchase a tuner that reprograms your car's ECU. That will cost about least $350. Use the search function above and you'll find plenty of discussion on the topic.

is the select shift better on gas, and is it faster to accelerate with?

I don't think Select Shift is necessarily better on gas, but it depends how you use it. Keep it in higher gears and you are probably saving a little bit of gas as the RPM of the engine is low.

To answer the second part of your question, think about it this way, when you are in auto mode the onboard transmission computer will select gears accordingly to your current speed. With Select Shift you can override it and get lot more power.

If you really want to test it out, put it into SelectShift while stopped and use the first gear to swiftly accelerate up to 35 mph, then second gear to red line, third to red line, fourth to red line, fifth to redline and by the time you hit red line in the sixth speed you are doing 120mph and boy that's the time you really realize how much of a powerhouse this car is.

If you hit redline in 6th gear you would be going 212 MPH. You hit the 126 MPH top speed at redline in 4th gear. I'm not sure if it would hold the engine at the redline or shift into 5th or 6th to maintain top speed. Usually the higher gears aren't designed to handle the full engine torque.
