Obviously you did not read my entire post, I gave an example. Read it again.

You mean the one you edited AFTER I replied? Nice trick.

Don't believe me, move out of your momma's basement and come live up here for a few years, you'll learn.

My mother died in 1995 and you're not nearly as smart as you think you are.

I will definitely consider this car if its a 2014+ :P and they offer the 3.7L engine option as a sport, as a possible trade-in, but regarding the 2.0 Ecoboost, it may be slightly better than the 3.5L right now, but I feel more secure in terms of reliability having a sturdy non-boosted V6 to bore the brunt than a turbo I4.

On the other hand, I would take the Fusion if it had the MKZ rear :P The Mondeo rear really is boring to me already after being in Europe and seeing that rear end all over,

I'm not trading. I love the looks of the 2013, but no way. I'd also love the 2013 Escape with 2.0 Ecoboost. What's not to love? 3500LBS towing, SUV versatility, in a vehicle with only slightly lower gas mileage than my 4cyl 2010 Fusion SE.

However, it will be a long time before I buy the Escape or the Fusion (and possibly any Ford). All versions of the Escape and Fusion have the same problematic transmission I have in my 2010. Don't get me wrong, I love my car, except for all the usual transmission complaints (I just hope my tranmission either needs a rebuild before the warranty expires, or that it can hold out until I'm no longer upside down on the loan and I can better afford to trade it). I might go with the Edge with the 6T50 tranmission, or the Ecoboost F-150, but there are vehicles out there that can tow and have better mileage. Also, it doesn't seem to be only the 6T35 transmission, I'm not sure how much I trust any Ford with an automatic anymore.

My father was recently in the market for a compact car. He absolutely loves the design of the Focus (as do I). He went with a Hyundai Elantra GT instead after reading complaint after complaint online about the transmissions (and having the transmission on the test drive confirm the issues by acting a bit funky).

I've also seen some reports of problems with F150 tranmission issues, but supposedly those are limited to the 2011 model year.

Yeah, I think I may wait a few years before buying another Fusion or an Escape (or probably any Ford).

Here's a thought.....

I've heard that ford used the aisin transmission on the sport to handle the extra hp and torque of the 3.5.

Wondering how the 6F35 will hold up with the increased torque of the 2013 turbo??

wellll since its a boat anchor now it will remain just that. my car has NEVER shifted right and most likely never will. i just hope it blows up before 60k so i can get a new one (that probably won't be any better) the continued use of this trans will deter me from buying anything its mounted in. its piece of crap design

After looking all over on a 2013 SE at the dealer on saturday, i think not. I do not care for the look of the extremely long cabin and short decklid. I find the A-pillar into hood contour transition atrocious, and there just seems to be too many unnecessary bulges in the bodywork. Inside, i noticed that the blind spots were worse. I cannot comment on materials because i am used to my leather and this SE had cloth, but my opinions may be skewed based on the disgusting purple exterior/tan cloth interior color combo. This thing was simply hideous.

I think i will be able to make a better decision when i get a chance to look over a black/black titanium.

As JoeyToronto say. The fusion doesn't look at all like the sonata or the elantra. It looks more like aston martin, the front anyway.

As for me yes I am trading my 2009 fusion AWD to a 2013 Titanuim. Already ordered just waiting to get it and the wait is driving me crazy as I already sold my old and now driving a focus 2007 that was furnished by the dealer until I get new one.

I really hate the focus, too small, too noisy even my kids don't want to sit in the back lol.

As for the materials, yes it looks cheap. I test drove the 2013 Honda Accord and the materials are much nicer to look at and the feel. The seats in the 2013 Fusion TItianium look cheap. If you're used to cloth material you cannot really compare. I was thinking of trading in my 2011 for the 2013 but after learning how Fords deappreciation is really bad, I am gonna wait til I pay my financing a bit more and trade it in for the new Accord. Kia is a NO and so is the boring Toyota Camry. I really like SUV's too. CRV's are excellent cars, my mom has a 2004 and never had a problem with it. But the current models are too small.

I don't understand the cheap comments. Most reviews say just the opposite and they also say the seats are very comfortable.

Inside the cabin, a stylish interior with high-quality materials shows Ford's continuing dedication to improving the passenger environment. The dashboard and center stack are uncluttered and tastefully designed, although this look can also come across as a bit stark and uninviting, especially with the all-black interior.

With the highly adjustable power driver seat, just about everybody should be able to find a comfortable driving position. The passenger seat is just as supportive, while the split-folding rear seats are well contoured and have plenty of legroom.

The Truth About Cars:

Honda, Toyota, and Volkswagen have all obviously cut corners in pursuit of lower costs. The materials inside the new Fusion are much nicer than in any of them.

You should go out there and test drive them and find out for yourself. To me, Fusion looks cheap inside. And I hate the steering wheel. Let's just say I was expectinng better and more. The thick pillars alone which cuts visibility is a deal breaker for me. It really bothered me when I test drove the car.

A few people including the guy at the Ford dealership was very surprised I wanted to trade in my 2011 or sell it. And someone at work said someone in their family test drove the Fusion and because of the blind spots, they decided not to go with the Fusion.

People are too focused on the design of the car and it wanting to look like some Astin Martin. But just like in people, you have to look beneath the surface besides the nice looks. The salesperson at the Ford dealership said she had someone order the Fusion without even test driving it. I said well, she's a fool. You really need to rent it for a weekend before deciding to invest so much money. Driving around the block is not enough.

In my 2011 Fusion there aren't many blind spots, but the one thing that is annoying is the review mirror, it's too low. I am 6ft and the mirror can be in the way sometimes.

Since Mercury is defunct, I'm not sure if I can bring myself to "downgrade" to a Ford-branded product. I grew up in the era that Ford, Chevrolet, and Plymouth were considered "poor man's cars", and I still have problems shaking that perception. Plus, I'm wanting to go a bit smaller than my 2010 Milan, rather than bigger. I drive solely by myself -- my back seat is still unused after almost 3 years. Right now, to meet my goal of luxury in a compact car, I'm leaning seriously towards a Buick Verano. As a senior citizen, I don't want the bells-and-whistles of the Ford My Touch, and Buick seems to understand the wants and needs of older customers better than most other carmakers. Also, I live in a small town, and the ONLY car dealer is a Buick/Chevrolet dealer. I've owned Ford products since I was 16, but times change.

I agree with Joey as far as not liking the new Fusion. It is a nice looking car, but the interior and ride leave much to be desired. I test drove one over a weekend and immediately knew the car is not for me. To me, the 2012 Fusion's are leaps and bounds better in all respects. Other than styling the redesign was a step backwards.

The reviews I have read are hit and miss. Either people like them or dislike them. There is nothing in between.

I'm thinking for every person who thinks the 2013 is a step backwards there are 10 others who don't own Fords who will consider buying one. 500K is pretty aggressive but you need to aim high. I don't think they'll have any trouble hitting 400K within a year and be in contention with the Accord. Don't forget the new hybrid gets 47 mpg and the Energi plug-in will be out in a few months which will also bring more attention.
