Tall people - do you have a moonroof?

Hello,

I am considering buying a 2012 Fusion while they are still in stock, and I would love to get one with the moon&tune package. I've read mixed feedback on the amount of headroom the moonroof steals. I'm 6'3" and I currently drive a 2006 Fusion SE. If I adjust the seat properly (all the way back, down, and tilted back a notch or so) I have a couple of inches of clearance in my current ride. Can anybody share their experience with the current model with the moonroof?

I would say you would probably just make it. I'm 6' and have about two inches of clearance. My seat is very close to being all the way down in the back. Best way to find out is to try one on.

Thanks. So I took time to visit my local Ford dealership today on my lunch hour. I sat in a SEL with a moonroof. If i moved my head side to side my hair brushed the moonroof opening slightly but i felt comfortable. Fusion Sport here I come!

I am 6'1 and I have a moonroof in my 2010. I have no problems with my head hitting the roof. I usually adjust he back of the base yo the lowest postion and the front of the base to about midway. This seems to work best for me, but I have really arms and legs, lol.

Ime 6'0" and have a 2012 SEL with 302A (moon/sony/bliss), and set my seat almost as high as it will go, with a little down in the rear. I have about 1" of clearance from the base of headliner.

I'm 6' 1" and specifically looked for one w/o the moon roof. It would probably be fine though. I have one in my '99 Explorer and it has slightly less clearance than my Fusion.

I'm 5'11" but with a higher torso to leg ratio than most, so I sit about as high as a 6'2"-6'3" person. My last car had a retracting style moonroof, and despite being a full-size sedan, my (short) hair brushed the roof with the seat fully down, and only then with significant seat back lean. Needless to say, I didn't even consider the Fusion with a moonroof. I've got four or five inches above, maybe two on the left, and my only head bonk risk is that idiotic grip handle. Lol.

I've got a moonroof in mine and I'm 6'3". On the test drive I was wearing a baseball cap and if I sat up perfectly straight, the top would rub against the roof. I lowered the seat a bit and have had no issues since.

I'm 6'5" and I have a moonroof. I have the seat all the way back, down, and reclined quite a bit to fit in there. I initially didn't want a Fusion after driving my girlfriend's 10 SEL, but I got time to play with the seat to get it right.

 

If I sit upright, I hit the roof, no problems. With a reclined seat, I have maybe .5" to 1" of clearance.

I'm around 6'5" and I have plenty of room, although it doesn't help as I lack a moonroof.

HOWEVER, my mother's Edge does have the vista roof, and I have room with it, no problem.

I must be the exception. I have a 2010 with a moonroof, I'm 5'11, and I have to have the seat as far down as it will go, leaned back a bit, and I still hit the headliner with my skull if I sit straight up. I have to slouch a bit in order to fit. And I have no hair, so that ain't it.

Maybe my torso is just taller than average? When I buy dress shirts, I have to get 36" sleeves. What sleeve length do you taller (>6'3") guys have?

^{I just bought a 2010 SEL with moonroof. At 6'4" I'm just brushing the top corner and still playing with the seat to get it right. If I lean a bit right, my head will be under the glass with lots of room. Looks like it might take a while to get it right.}

I just bought an 11 with a sunroof. Im 6'2 and have plenty of headroom.
