BlackBetty
Hey guys, well I had the Sport for almost a year now, figured I'll give a little update. Still love the car, I've noticed that there is a ton of Fusions around but not so many Fusion Sports. I still wouldn't change anything with the car, love the power, and reliability. It's still super comfortable and the handling is awesome, it feels really planted, although it has body roll it still sticks very well for a heavy-ish car. Anyways cleaned it up a bit, some pics are from my iPhone. Here are some dirty pics.. The silver paint really hides the dirt and grime but this thing was filthy! I figured I would give it a quick clay after the wash, washed it with Meg's ultimate wash and Clay with Sonus SFX ultra fine detailing clay. I really liked the clay, plus you can use it more often then regular clay. Turns out the paint really needed it. Polish and wax with Meg's show car glaze (#7?) and Meg's show car yellow wax (26?) Detailed the wheel wells and tires too. I need some better pics in better light, I think it turned out pretty nice! MadMerc
Looks great! Amazing what clay will pull off the paint.
BlackBetty
Yeah, it's nice working with a silver car too bc you can actually see the contaminants being lifted off. My old car wa black and you wouldn't notice all the black road grime being pulled off. It really does look cleaner and pops out after a good clay and polish. I've got some daytime pics I still need to post up.. The lighting kind of sucks in those pics

BlackBetty
Jim- yeah I do love the handing and That probably came across wrong. I think it's because my old '99 Cougar handled like it was on rails from all the suspension mods. Lmao. But it does stay really flat around the corners especially for a 4-door. I love the handling, it's super comfortable but still feels razor sharp and tight. Thanks Merc!!
Rodrigo
Nice detailing job, Black Betty! She's a beaut. I see you have HID's on both low and fogs... what brand and temp did you use? Also, what tint did you use (brand, %) and how did you address dot matrix in upper part of the back glass? In a 80 degree turn I take everyday leading into HWY 99, I notice a weeeee bit of a "tendency" to roll in the middle of the turn (at about 70kph), but it quickly evens out with a quick throttle blip for this AWD sport. I too love the way this car responds when pushed in corners and at highway passes.

Sorry for the late reply, I don't have HID's installed it's all factory but I did have some vvme ones on my old Cougar and they worked great. I got my window tint done at a shop in town, they're "limo tint" so 5%. I agree with the blip lol it keeps the car planted a bit more. It does lean a bit towards understeer but I find the stability control helps it keep fairly neutral, plus if you use some late braking into the corner to help the rear end rotate around. Car looks amazing. Georgeous sport Thanks!! I'm stupid anal with keeping it clean.
fusion0389
That picture of the clay bar was surprising, lots of grime.
BlackBetty
Yeah I like to clay my cars about once a year. Its surprising how much collects on the bar. On the flip side a freshly clayed car really pop's a bit more and looks that much cleaner.
